Very interesting...but can you launch a car across even longer distances? Say, from the KSC's beach to the island base's island?

No I can't jump to the island. This is an effort with diminishing returns, I had to re-engineer a lot just to get that last bit of runway. The faster I travel the less angle the ramp has to have to tolerate being hit, and the faster drag rips away my initial speed.

I don't think I could, not if I was sticking with un-powered flight. The problem is that the faster I go the more drag pushes back, and also the physics tolerance of the ramp and car is limited. I didn't put in all the times I randomly exploded hitting the jump even with a perfect run-up.

Ultimate Challange! Drop a car from +40km up and land it on a ramp! (The best would be a wide ramp which first comes straight down and than flats out,"just" teleport yourself to the right place till you got it :P Not that hard is it?

Actually Nikola already did something like that, it was a jump from Mun or Minmus that came back to Kerbin and landed down the side of a mountain used like a ramp. It was actually very impressive. It's too bad that Nikola no longer makes KSP videos.

I don't think I could. It is a battle of diminishing returns; The faster I go the shallower the ramp needs to be to tolerate being hit, and the more dramatically my initial speed is ripped away by drag.
