Wow what a story! Thank you Pastor Gary for sharing this, it gives one courage that whatever happens in this world, we should not pay evil with evil because God will always take care of His people 🙏

I have a problem with immediate soon return of Jesus. You should leave the Jews out of your world view. I'm Ok with your publicizing the resistance of the Beilski Brothers in Belorussia in WWII but please do not try to make it part of your ministry. Jews should stay Jews and Christians should stay Christians. That's the way, God wants it it, so please for the sake of Christ, give it a rest. Stop trying to convert Jews to Christianity. Leave them alone. As Thomas Jefferson said about secession "Let them stand undisturbed" That's the way God wants it. If you convert Jews to Christianity , the state of Israel will no longer exist. Then, where will you be? WWIII?

Watching from Nairobi Kenya. What a blessing. It's a story full of rich lessons. Satan is a cruel master, let us align ourselves on the side of Christ who is loving, kind and gentle.

There is a good movie about the Bielskis called “Defiance” from the year 2008. It’s pretty good for those that enjoy this subject. For those interested in more WWII Europe content, there is a really good Estonian movie called “Come and See”. It is not for the faint of heart and has English subtitles here on KZbin if you search. God Bless all.

@@DjAboo1 it's a great movie! But it was filmed in + based on events in Belarus, not Estonia; the filmmaker was Russian (Soviet), it was made in 1985. The main character actor in it was only 14 when the film was made; he left such an impression on me - I've seen very few young actors with such an outstanding + moving performance. It's an important movie.

The Partisans were such heroes with indomitable spirits. I'm sure some felt deep fear + utter despair at times. But they fought on + wanted to live so badly. I'm grateful for them, as someone who still has family in Eastern Europe. ❤

The brother's and those who went to the woods for survival; the men would make clandestine raids into the town getting food and killing those Jews who were "turn coats against their own people" They also killed Germans taking their guns and ammo into the woods with them. I saw the movie some years ago. These brothers were Russian Jews. In 2015 my brother did DNA test my family carry Russian Jewish blood on my mother's side. We were delighted to find our heiritage as we were not raised by our family members!

You've inspired me to watch it now. Have you seen Come and See? My great uncle was in his early 20s, a Catholic Pole living in Warsaw in 1939. He joined the Polish Underground + fought in the Home Army. He survived the war! And then, more happened.. 😢 but in the long run, he made it - became an architect + professor, managed to move to the US in the 1970s and lived to be one month shy of 98. The will to live + strength of spirit is really a gift from God, but it takes an act of faith + a bit of action on our parts, I've learned.

Wonder how they got enough ammo? Perhaps the Russians kept them supplied.
@daniby98947 ай бұрын
@edbrake2723 Not sure about this specific partisan unit, but overall, becides allies armament smuggling, sometimes they'd steal ammo and weapons from german army aswell. Plus, the resistance wasn't same everywhere like in France they didn't have much weapons at their disposal, while in balkans the resistance was much more bloody since there were lingering weapons after the balkan wars, plus there were some para military groups, experienced officers from back then so they had more means to put up more resistance and inspite nazi occupations of those countries, there are some regions of those countries where nazi's never could set foot. Ex Yugoslavia was the only country that managed to liberate itself when germans were retreating at the end of the war, the partisans took over completely the country and by the time russians came down thinking they were suppose to liberate them, people were already freed and celebrating, so the only thing russians did was just joining the celebrations. We always hear term resistance, but in truth there were so many different resistance not just from one country to another, but so many different groups inside the same country.

As I study history, I have come to the conclusion that persecution is healthy. It is when life becomes easy that we fall away from our faith.
@mariehelena236420 күн бұрын
Like as a test? I can see that... I am not interested in persecuting others, though. But if you mean how does one respond to the challenge of being persecuted, it's rich for spiritual thought.
