Fearless - Pink Floyd - Lesson 1 of 2

A favorite of mine from 1971’s Meddle album. This lesson looks at the tuning Gilmour and Waters used on the album, which is GGDGBB. It’s actually a pretty easy tuning to get to, as you’ll see. The original had several guitars overlaid; this one tries to get most of the sound with one guitar. Once you’ve got that tuning set, it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. Part 1 has a play through, how to tune and the first part of the intro; Part 2 has the rest of the intro, as well as the verse, chorus and bridge.
Singing is only there to make it easier to know where we are in the song. I am not a singer and I know it! Thanks for watching.

I had figured out a standard tuning 'passable' rendition of this (My FAVOURITE floyd tune) but i could never get all the little fills & riffs down correctly. which, sir, you seem to have done a phenominal job, however, i wish the camera would've shown the pick-work. 'cause there is alot of up-stroke and skipping of strings i still seem to have issues with. still a crowd-pleasing song, and w/ the open tuning i really does make it much easier to play. i have an '89 Les Paul 'black-beauty', an '81 silver-burst, and a telecaster, i built my-self w/ parts from 'Stewart-Macdonald' it just dosent sound right w/ the gibsons... thanx for the great job on a great (& thankfully under appreciated) tune from the year i was born....

I normally do this in standard tuning so I don't have to change live. The neck is going to be all over the place.

Well, I can understand that! Not the most difficult tuning to do, but not something you necessarily want to do in the middle of a set! But, with that tuning, you get those nice drone type notes in there.
