Can someone smarter than me explain in this specific meta what separates the good Winstone from the great ones? The only thing I can think of is literally just engage timings.

the very basis i can see the difference between him and Changsik is how he controls the pacing of his dives. 1. on Oasis 1st rd, they lost the very 1st engagement in the neutral (0:18) and u can see during that, Hanbin was melted while he was calling to rotate around the back of the point. by retreating at times with good positions, forces resources (cooldowns, ults etc2.) out of the enemy team and this would be a gamechanger. 2. the way he plays is to isolate the enemy supports away from their tanks with his bubble/primal. he does this beautifully everytime with his primal. he might have been caught in 2v1s against the enemy backline, but then again these small minute duels he takes forces resources and also tips the other duel in their favour of 5v4 on the other side. this can be seen on: a) Volskaya 12:28 - 12:47 where Winstons were traded mid fight but at 12:44 2 ults were used by Titans against 1 Lucio Beat by Dallas. Titans did not get any tick off of that duel even with ults invested in that very fight with the Fuel investing only Echo Copy but with Dva Bomb in reserve for the coming fight at 12:50 along with Moira's Coalescence. b) on Numbani at 15:32 if u pause it right here, u can see who he is looking at, the Echo with flight used mid-primal, iso-s the echo fast this forces the moira to help the echo and again he created a 2v1 BUT at 15:41 u can see the lucio LEFT the 5v4 making it a 5v3 and Titans tank got demolished along with their Reaper. these were the main takeaways that i saw while watching in awe how this boy forced his way through into the backline only with his primal or with his bubble in reserve. he doesnt give chase nor hardcommit to a kill if its not within his grasp (at which i totally would have done in my 6stack quickplay "scrims"). even so, I am only a gold player so what do i know. maybe there are smarter ones out there that could shed more light on this game to educate us. hope i was helpful in a way. Eh this meta wasn't really dive it's closer to a deathball comp with the high dmg of reaper/echo and high healing of Moira, coupled with the short range cleave of monkey. Dive would be run with more mobile characters who can all jump on one isolated target separately without the need of a Lucio

difference between you and owl is they are astronomically better than your understanding of the game, you see a winston and a reaper and probably immediately think "reaper wins"

The difference is that he can stay alive longer and make better decsision during fights. His primal juggles are as good as they can be in a lobby full of pro players Thats why he keeps being one of the best main tank players
