I think it was even more difficult for Deft mentally, since he was never known as the best. I believe in an interview, it was mentioned that he went to the same school as Faker and while he was great at League, Faker was already known as the best. Then he watched Faker win three Worlds and prior to Season 12, his closest was semi-finals in season 4, his second year in. Considering most pro players don't even last half the time he's been active on the scene, it's normal to feel dejected, and for him to get a shot going into his 10th year, and actually winning Worlds, you can see why he broke down after winning. It's difficult to be so proximate to someone, but always in their shadow, from school days to now work, it's been over ten years he's had to deal with that.
