Probably mostly because some of their fans refer to this as metal, while Vic has a really high-ish voice and the music isn't really that heavy. And 'Metal-Purists' like to keep the tag 'Metal' to the bands thy deem heavy enough to bear it....And this hate towards bands that are called metal while they actually, not only in their eyes, not metal, but actually genres like metalcore or post hardcore or whatever, has kinda spread through the internet lately, also mostly because 'Emo' kids tend to be...very out there with their behavior... As PTV isn't as heavy as those bands but people who liek those bands sometimes listen to them. However people forget that they're not as heavy because they are not deathcore or metal, but are infact Post-hardcore. That or some preppy scene kid who thinks BOTDF is punk.
