I was born on the Assumption (Aug 15) and my name is also Mary. I am so honored that the Mother of my Lord comes to me, but I am probably to hard-headed to answer. I had been away from mass and the rosary for some time, and on the 14th, my ultra protestant, anti-catholic roommate asks me if there's a statue of the Virgin at my parish. I answer "yes, why?", claws out to defend my faith. Then she replies: "well, we need to go there to pray. It's true that we pray but it's always good to do it in front of a statue of the BVM. We need to pray the Rosary". I couldn't believe my ears!!!!! That night I cried a lot because I couldn't believe the BVM would use a protestant to remind me, a catholic, of her existence. Every year She does something like that. Two years ago, a few days before my birthday, I dreamed I was traveling to stay for a retreat at a carmelite convent in a neighbouring city. I actually obeyed and went for a two days retreat. Sometimes, I ignore her calling, which is hurting me. I don't know why. I can't believe how persistant and patient the Virgin Mary is with unworthy me. I am soooo stubborn and hard-headed!
