Not sure if you've figured this out yet but the little round post where the blade ejects from the dispenser fits into the end of the razor. you don't need to drop the blade into the razor by hand, just pinch the back of the razor (as you do to dispose of a used razor) and slide a blade in. It took me a couple blades to realize the engineers at jatai were looking out for my fingers in their design.

+Nicole Sulzen: Thank you for that tidbit. I have some fyi for you as well. You meant, it took a couple of blades to realize the engineers at FEATHER were looking out for your fingers in their design. Jatai neither makes the razor handle or the razor blades. Jatai is only the exclusive distributor of Feather’s beauty and barber products in North America, they are not the parent company or manufacturer.

Hey thanks for your descriptive video! I like the pro-guard razor blades too, as they are a lot more forgiving. But another guy utube (There Will Be Blood) says they give false sense of security, i.e.if you then use the professional blades.....expect some cuts! Having used the Western cut throat style razor with feather blades, I was getting lots of nicks. And I couldn't figure whether it was to do with wrong angle, or skin too sensitive. I reckon the former! As such, the pro-guards give you a chance to getting use to the right angle to use the blade. Another piece of advice for what it's worth to those out there beginning to use straight/ shavette razors, and this being from my barber; keep the soap on your face light and bubbly (like it would be as you wash yourself in shower) not a heavy thick lather! As much as it's great to build up a thick lather with some nice shaving soap, unless you're quick enough, I found it starts to become like shaving sludge off your face. Plus you can't really see the blade angle clearly against your skin as you shave the hair off. Anyhow, I'm no expert:-) just my thoughts!

keith plunkett yeah that's true about the false sense of security. I alternate between the blades and definitely get more nicks and more easier with the professional. Once all my professional blades are finished and used up, I will only buy pro-guard from that point moving forward.

Don't get me wrong, but I'd rather use the professional blades for that super close shave, just like the old straight razors. But for this moment in time, something to work towards. Or perhaps not. I guess it's whatever works for each individual. Bottom line for me is taking the time and just enjoying having a nice shave:-).

I like the pro guard razors. Do u know where I can find a cheap holder to put them in?
@GentlemanMasterclass6 жыл бұрын
Just now seeing your message. They already come in a nice holder out of the box. Once you are finished with them you can dispose of then in a sfe way in the opposite side of the case they come in.

can i use a normal blade for feather ss ??
@GentlemanMasterclass6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by "normal blade", but I believe the blades used for this Feather SS are proprietary and made specifically for this razor. There are 4 different types of Feather blades you can choose from ProGuard, Professional, Pro Light, and Pro Super. I only use the first two however and the ProGuards are my favorite. They are safe and work well.

Kai makes blades that can be used in the Feather SS and DX razors. It's called the Captain blades and it was released to be used in their Captain razors which is a slightly cheaper version of the Feather.
