I do...went out jigging for halibut in Bodega bay the other day and hooked into multiple 20 plus pound salmon, was so hard to watch them swim away.

my first time ever fishing for salmon was 2013 klamath river and the outlet on the feather up until they closed it we went every single year to both there is a huge void in cali anglers life for sure!

I wonder if there's a private company that could run CA fish and wildlife? CAL anything just seems like a scam...why are Oregon and Washington having record runs?

There are hundreds of runs in WA and OR and most of them are down. The record run this year was the Sockeye and that's because of Indian hatcheries in Canada.

As a former California resident for 36-years and an Oregon resident for the last 11 1/2 years I can honestly confirm that the salmon fisheries are in serious decline from CA to AK. It’s not fair to have shut CA down when OR, WA, AK and Canadian fishermen continue to hammer the declining salmon stocks. Policy makers should have shut down ALL of the fisheries, not just California’s the last 2-years if they truly wanted to save the salmon.
