Looks amazing - esp for us bird-brains. Immaculate and beautiful place. Gald you mentioned you were in early - you had it to yourself. That place deserves to be packed with visitors!

Was certianly very busy by the time I left, in the penguin video you can see all the cuts where I’ve had to work around folks walking between me and the camera 😂

Thanks Nick, it's always pleasant to see your smiling face. I'm in the US and I watch many political videos including about the Ukraine war and it gets to one after a bit. I can always pop over to the land down under and watch you handling a snake that would cause me to soil me britches if seen at my feet. And a dingo, wallaby, etc videos which are educational, entertaining and fun. Your Australian snakes are so different than the vipers we have in the States. Compression wrap isn't going to work here on North American snakes. Snake venom is fascinating and learning about all your crazy venomous snakes if frightening! I'm retired and spend a chunk of time on KZbin. cheers mate.

"The animals you really want to see...." It's the birds for me. They look like really nice aviaries too. Kangaroos, koalas, wombats and possums I can see when I walk out the front door, but the owls and many of the little forest birds I'd be lucky to even glimpse on a bush walk. We have resident boobooks which come to catch the moths under the porch light in Summer, but most other owls are just a silent shadow seen in the corner of the eye in the moonlight, even where they are common!

I love birds, but I recall reading Benjamin Mee’s book “we bought a zoo” before the movie comes out where he (half jokingly) talks about trying not to get into bird watching because “that way madness lies😂”

@@WickedWildlife I've definitely met some _enthusiastic_ birders over the years. My preference is to continue building habitat for them around the farm so the birds come to me.....
@WickedWildlife Жыл бұрын
@@anserbauer309 I think in Ben Mee’s example he talks about birders ignoring otter playing because a near by sparrow had been spotted outside it’s usually season 😂 I must say though, since moving house, and especially since installing troughs around the place the bird life around us is fantastic

@@WickedWildlife Adding a little water is a great way of getting to see the birds you might not ordinarily see. I have a large dam at the bottom of the property which brings in a lot of birds that otherwise wouldn't visit. I've learned that I can use my huge pet ram as an effective bird hide, since the birds ignore me when I sit behind him and as long as I rub his tummy he's happy to just lie there for as long as necessary. OK.... so I might have caught just _a little twitcher madness_ Ben Mee describes 🤪

G'day, Nick! Ta very much for showing the koalas! You know how crazy I am for koalas. Can't get enough of them! The birds were really neat. We have lots of owls in America, too. We have barn owls, snow owls, great horned owls, and the list goes on. Your buzzard was very neat looking. I'm not sure why, but I always thought buzzards were synonymous with vultures. We have lots of vultures out West. I think they're creepy looking! Do you have vultures in Australia? My favourite bird would have to be the kookaburras! I loe them, and their laugh! I wouldnt mind having one for a pet, but it's probably not allowed. I like your magpies too. They have a beautiful voice. I'm not really sure what our magpies look like, as sadly, I've never seen one before. When I was on aboat tour on Chincoteague Island, VA(yes, where the famous ponies live, I got a good look at a bald eagle. He looked so dignified! We have goldfinches here. They are very small and a very bright yellow! My absolute favourite bird is deffo the hummingbirds. They are so tiny, but they're really beautiful. Their beaks are very long and slender, so they can get flower nectar. They almost sound like a bumblebee. Do you have bumblebees in Australia? Saw the cassowary. Something about them seems so majestic to me, efen though they are very dangerous. Loved seeing the wombats, kangaroos, wallabiea and quokkas! I think I saw a potaroo, too. Oh, and of, course the dingoes! They do look like dogs. I deffo saw a diamond python! Those things are humongous! Nick, what made you decide to befome a herpetologist? I hope Boo is doing well. She is so cute! I hope everything is finally starting to settle down a bit for you now. You could use a rest, I'm sure. Tirrah for now!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🐨
