Hey Jordi, I was wondering if you could turn down the lights slightly? Everything is so white that I couldn’t really see the steps. Please don’t take this as hate because I love your work!

i actually could not figure out my camera for this tutorial. i turned my lights right off & turned the brightness down & it was still overexposed & even wouldn’t focus half the time :( i dont really understand camera or light stuff so when things act up, im totally lost! any help appreciated, ha!

itslikelymakeup how low is your apature miss jordi? If it’s below 3-3.5 I find that it lets in too much light. Your focus problem also could have been because of this, as low apatures have a very narrow focus depth. For example there could be a 5cm spot in your field that gets you perfect focus, but moving slightly in or out of that 5cm range sticks you out of focus 💖

itslikelymakeup what kind of camera are you using? You may be able to set an "exposure compensation" on you camera. if you're using auto, you can set it to darken the exposure it's automatically setting if it's too bright. The suggestion about your aperture is good too. if you're using bright lights you will want a higher f stop number. You could also try setting up your lights farther away if that's possible. I also suggest using spot metering (for the exposure) and single point focusing if you have those two options and can figure it out on the camera.

I think the problem you're having is with aperture too. You'll see the aperture values with an "f" beside it. The lower it is, the brighter everything gets. Try a higher one, like f11 and do a short video as test. Low iso (maybe 200 or 100) will also help with showing more details and less of that ghostly white light. Hope we were able to help 💖

the thing i love about her is that she always makes different looks. a lot of youtubers have a “traditional” look that they do in every video (only changing the colors) and that pisses me of because some of them have a lot more visibility than her, but it shouldn’t be like that. anyways, i love her channel and her crazy makeup because is so unique and passionate! nice job, jordi! lots of love from brazil 🇧🇷
