Excellent, are you folks taking into account tangential friction force during take-off run, not just lift, wheel friction, surface type, but also the relative height of undercarriage and wings above the runway ... so for lower (usually smaller aircraft) vs. higher (usually larger aircraft)? If being calculated this would eliminate all the current tendency in simulators to wonder from center-line as speed increases resulting in most cases what looks like over correction but is really just no change in wheel friction as speed increases ... a flaw present in all current simulators. It would also be very nice to see variable Gust Load implementations (non-sharp edge) at all phases of flight ... especially wind shear ... wind shear is a huge "topic" with ATC and pilots during approach phase. Bring that implementation to life would be tremendous ... keep up the good work.

@thomb6295 жыл бұрын
Very happy to see this, you seem to have thought of everything! Regarding the heat blur graphical effect: if you want to do this as well as everything else you are doing, I have some tips for improving it: - when the air moves fast relative to the camera, you don't see the big optical distortions in real life. Part of it could be a motion blur effect, where you would just see a blurred image but no varying distortions. The other part could be that straight out of a jet engine the air does not have varying density yet, it only happens after some distance. Anyway, it means that a camera following a flying jet (behind, or seeing out the passenger window) won't see the typical heat blur distortion seen in this video. It's something you typically see from stationary cameras on the ground when the air is moving slowly compared to the camera. Check out the window the next time you are on an airliner :) - in games/sims the effect has a tendency to blur objects that are in front of the hot air sometimes (typically the edge of objects), which doesn't happen in real life. If the shader could take depth into account in a better manner, it would look a lot more realistic. I haven't seen anyone else do this correctly yet. But since you are doing everything else so well, I wanted to mention it :) Now I only wish that force feedback becomes a thing for flight sim controllers, there should be a huge market for that with a realistic sim like this, like in simracing. I hope the architecture of the sim can support realistic force feedback in the future.

The shot from 8:17 is so breathtaking! I haven't played non-combat flight simulators without getting bored, but I want to play this!! Now the only things that seem to have any room for improvement is damage to the planes, photo-realistic cloud graphics (in 10 years), and more persistent cars on the roads. Also, a friend asked if there would be aurora in the game.

Will air flow in multiplayer off of other planes/jets also be a thing? I assume so with the crazy detail you all are putting into this.
@PabloOliverMusic5 жыл бұрын
i believe that this will be simulated too, there is an A.I making everything in real time. I mean, If you can take turbulance in one wing only, why air flow will not affect other aircrafts in the same region?!
@kneebon55 жыл бұрын
@@PabloOliverMusic The AI has nothing to do with making the air in real time, they have already stated all of the rendering and physics are done locally. The AI is building the map, trees, non-scanned towns and roads. Don't get them streaming the data for the world confused with streaming the entire game.

@@kneebon5 Which is interesting. They've mentioned using 3d fluid dynamics in the game and fluid dynamics is a very resource intensive process on computers. I wonder how they dumbed it down enough to still be realistic and beautiful but function "well" in the game. This is super awesome but I have one question - how much "game" will be in this simulator? Do you plan to implement any career mode or economy? I would love to transport goods/people, earn money, buy new planes, hire pilots etc. :)
@NicoMavB5 жыл бұрын
The idea of economy and "buy" new planes (or hire pilots etc) that is already ingame is not necesarry a good idea... (because it's a simulator, and i think not that much simers would love to "unlock" contents...Or maybe in a "campaign" mode, why not :D )...But the idea to transport people, or some missions, that is cool ;)

This advertisement really makes you think that they're more realistic than X-Plane? I mean they didn't show any graphs, no airflow simulations no actual calculations that are being made during flight, nothing. They threw with big words around them and people like you think they now topped Laminar Research? I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to like this sim or that this sim isn't the next step. I'm saying that this sim doesn't deserve this much hype because of advertisement videos. Rather rate it when it comes out with side by side comparisons and with tools, which can picture stuff like airflow etc.
