@slavathecar4 жыл бұрын
@Bozovic Jesu li Srbi rušili i palili crkve?

Great point. Our differences are meant to unite us to create a colorful world, not divide us into killings and violence. Especially in the case of Balkan Slavs, who really created the idea of so many divisions among the Slavs, such as the Serbs and Croats who basically speak the same language (not trying to deny there are fundamental differences, personally an 'outsider' so trying to avoid over-commenting), are so much different between each other? When I looked at history, there is one thing that I can't just skip on for this matter. Imperialism. Basically different imperial forces, who was doing similar things around the world. They've imposed different religions, cultures and rules on different sections of the people. The division lines were merely cease-fire lines of those imperial superpowers, from my perspective. I'm personally not Slavic. I'm trying to understand from the perspective that I'm Chinese. Similar to southern and western Slavs our people and our homelands were subject to brutal imperial and colonial exploitations. A lot of our people died and a lot more damage was caused simply because of the greed of imperialists. One of the worst examples was the Russo-Japanese war, which almost entirely happened within the boarders of today's China. One of the worst thing both sides did was killing Chinese who were alleged to work for the other side... Anyways, wish you the best of the luck. R.I.P for your dad. Stay strong.

And all that matters is that the Lakers, the Rams, the Kings and the Dodgers are winning.

Actually, for me, this is a pretty realistic explanation with very solid historic background explanation, which is rare in such videos. In reality, it was a culmination of numerous problems and antagonisms suppressed by the oppressive communist regime for half a century. The sole formation of unified Yugoslavia in 1918. was a noble cause, but in reality, a big mistake made by the Kingdom of Serbia in its pursuit to make a country big and strong enough to counter constant invasions from foreign powers to South Slavic territories. What Alexandar I failed to recognize is that centuries of separation, different religions and cultural influence from the Catholic West, Orthodox East, and Islam have made such a huge separation between South Slavic people that national unification in a way Italy or Germany have had was not possible anymore. It would be much better if Serbia just continued to exist as an independent country and only politically supported others to establish their own national states without unification or only with some sort of federal union with clear borders. Making one unified kingdom was a ticking bomb that only waited to explode. It happened first in 1941. and then again in 1991.

One thing to add was the fact that, during the power-vacuum of 1991, the JNA was arming Bosnian Serb paramilitaries all throughout Bosnia. Milošević knew very well what he was doing prior to the independence referendum of 1992. It’s no wonder the VRS could blitz so much territory in two years. Also, it’s the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the second entity. Bosnia-Herzegovina is the federal state comprising both the RS and FBiH.

So thumbs up for that! You didn't make too much of a mess since you cramped everything in two videos, and that is a remarkable accomplishment. Nobody ever mentions Macedonia when talking about the Yugoslav wars, there was an "insurgency" in 2001, when former KLA members infiltrated UN administered Kosovo and started a war here, creating the "NLA" NATO claimed it was successful in stopping it from becoming a war with the Ohrid framework agreement, though the "insurgency" never would have gained ground had NATO not forbidden the Macedonian army from driving them out of the mountains, instead forcing a "diplomatic solution" while the Macedonian police was only allowed to shoot back.

I wouldn't say these people were brothers, though I am not from the Northern Hemisphere at all. They all jumped at the chance to go to war with each other it seems to me. The countries were not homogeneous enough for peace to last, and it's clear to me Tito was the man keeping them from killing each other.

@@mogabriel5238 Yes, yes they can. I have seen in some comment sections (especially when a History channel says that "The Balkans/Ex yugo nations all hate each other" ) calling the person out for trying to spread hate and lies. Lots of people, especially the youth, are trying to put aside their differences because they realised that we are just the same idiots. More difficult for the older generation, but ny grandfather ( Serb who almost fought in the war) still very much supports Croatia and Bosnia. No-one here really trusts their government... A bunch of corrupt shit heads in all honesty It's very much a dysfunctional family, the messed up soup in the Balkan peninsula.

Yeah. Tito held Yugoslavia together. That's why he gained the nickname "Greatest son of Yugoslav peoples and nationalities". The best years of Yugoslavia were while Tito was president, from 1945 to 1980. Then, from 1980 to 1991, was the period before the wars. And then, finally, the Yugoslav Wars started in 1991 and lasted all the way to 1999... Yugoslavia was one great country, which was destroyed by ultra-nationalism, the West, and most of all, by Tudman and Milosevic

There's alot of missing information, since you wanted to fit everything into 20mins, that shine a light how bad the situation was before the NATO intervention. Then put a spotlight on how great, democratic and helpful NATO was in handling it, even tho the US and NATO had a large role to play even before Milosevic mobilized into Kosovo after the conflict with ex-yugo members. If you really want to understand what happened I would suggest listening to Michael Parenti US war on Yugoslavia, promoting his book "To kill a nation", he doesn't only talk about the privatisation of former yugo countries but also US after ww2 and cold war. I would also recommend Boris Malagurski "Weight of chains" as it goes in-depth about the whole situation. There were heros like Josip Kir who tried to stop the ethnic fight between Croats and Serbs at the start but he was swept away. A man that tried to stop this madness, got brutally murdered because of it and his name was forgotten in a matter of days, and his intentions destroyed.
