Very useful! Thanks! I’m a bit out of topic here but I was talking with someone the other day and he used some words like ‘’Get ‘em, I told ya…’’ etc Are those common in Britain? Do British people use these types of terms in their daily conversations?

You're right that in the US we refer to a "deck" and not "decking." If I heard someone talking about decking, I'd think they were putting up Christmas decorations! Instead of decks, which are raised off the ground, some American homes have a patio, a slab of concrete, brick, or stone at ground level in the back of the house. In the front, most homes have a porch, stoop, or lanai. Stoops are small, sometimes just a set of steps, while a lanai is larger and can actually wrap around multiple sides of the home, are covered, and may be semi-enclosed. Porches may be covered or not. Have you done a video on the types of homes? In addition to flats/apartments, there are two-story, ranch style, condos, cottages, duplex, mansions, tract houses, and more. Three story homes aren't that common, but I lived in one years ago. Houses are usually described in terms of floors, bedrooms, and baths while apartments may only list the number of bedrooms, leaving the assumption that there's only one level and one bath. A studio apartment has no separate bedroom but will have a separate bath. There's also a "mother-in-law apartment," which is a bedroom with ensuite and (usually) a separate entrance. Google says they can also be called "granny flats." One type of area that multi-story homes have is a "landing." This is a small floor space at either the top or bottom of a staircase (or sometimes connecting two sets of stairs.) Landings can be inside or outside, depending on the layout. It's interesting that in British English inanimate objects "live" somewhere. In some ways the expression is cozy, in others it's a little creepy!

Countertop. In Spain, we call it "Pollo" ( chicken). Please put the pot in the "pollo" next to the sink for washing up it later.
