I love this league, I've been watching it for over a decade now. That being said, I've noticed that with some recent iBattle roster additions, it seems like punchlines are concentrated efforts and the rest of the writing is just sorta an afterthought. Setups should be treated with the same meticulousness as the punches they lead up to because they're of equal importance. Ima just be real, lines like "we gonna host your funeral in a great church" should have been abandoned on the cutting room floor. Top tier battle rappers don't have that kind of shit in their writing and if you're aspiring to be top tier and facing top tiers from other leagues then neither should you. Anyways, $4 a pound. Imma be honest. Following what’s already being done by top tiers is not the way. Especially when you look at major events and their up there putting on bad battles back to back. I think people should write what represents them and what’s fun for them to rap. If they can do that and please the fans at the same time then it’s perfect. Because I’m reality you can nit pick everything and they can change everything and there will still be people who just aren’t satisfied with that either. “We gonna host your funeral in a great church” might be pointless to you but to fans who know what’s going on it’s very relevant because of who is battling. A Christian battler and a battler named Christian. That’s my take on it though. Just my opinion. Bing Bong 📺
