February 09 2024 - Hollyoaks - James & Ste

Ste manages to drive the car away before the police see it, and torches it to get rid of the evidence. We then see him with a bottle of vodka... James, Leah and Lucas are at home when Ste turns up drunk. Ste carries on drinking and then passes out on the sofa, wetting himself. Lucas storms out, and Leah gets upset, thinking it's her fault Ste has relapsed. James reassures her and tells her to find Lucas and spend the night at Leela's. He then goes to clean up Ste and finds his car keys in Ste's pocket. When Ste wakes up, he asks Ste about the keys and Ste lies that he found them. James doesn't believe him and asks him again, which leads to Ste finally admitting that he killed Ella. James is shocked, and asks him if he's sure and Ste tells him about the boot. Ste then says he thought the drink would help but he needs something stronger, and goes to leave. James realises what Ste means and goes to stop him leaving, managing to lock him in the house. Ste then begs James to get him some crystal meth, as James is distraught on the other side of the door...

This family is in so much pain right now and Ste is just adding to it. Now imagine James is the responsible one who has to hold the family together. Poor Ste relapsed because of the guilt and if Warren finds out their lives will become much worse than it already is with Leah having nightmares and Lucas kicking off every second.

Today's episode reminded me of one from.like a decade ago when Doug (Ste's boyfriend/ husband, whatever it was at the time) managed to convince Amy (the kids' mother) to let him see them. This was during his very bad drug phase. He stumbled into the door and fell to the floor while these two little children were screaming daddy
