February 18, 2021 QSO with K4LEN FTDX10 AMERITRON AL-811H

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to have my FTDx10 speak to my AL-811. I tried the ARB-704 interface using the 10 pin to RCA jack but no AMP joy. Did you hook up your 10 pin to RCA jack cable to the RELAY socket in the AL-811 vs. using the ARB-704 interface? Thanks for your help, 73 & God Bless, JohnyMac KC1FWU

FTDX10 is a great radio, but dang, for an easy one, Yaesu, how about letting us tune using the mouse scroll wheel?? Little thing, but drives me nuts. 🤣🤣

I called ham radio outlet told them I wanted the amp keying cable with alc cable they sent me what I needed.

@@aaronlabranche2977 I have one from an older 950 it’s the one that plugs into the rig and has the 2 rca jacks off it for Keyer and alc I think. Is that what yours has I just do t want to buy another one if what I have works. Thanks for the help

@@aaronlabranche2977 is there a setting in the menu for using the yaesu with an amplifier? when i was running the TS2000 by Kenwood with an acom 1010 you had to enable the radio to talk to the amplifier for tx/rx switching using an interface cable but i can't see that option in the yaesu menu or is it just plug and play?

Hi mate, nice video. I have the 101mp and have been a bit frightened to hook up my 811H to it as I’m not sure of the radio settings for switching the amp. I see you just hooked up and away it went, im going to give it a quick try on the weekend on 5w and see if it triggers the amp. I don’t think a quick blip will hurt at 5w. You’ve inspired me to move forward, thank you.
