So nice to see another garden channel in a mild climate. I am in zone 10a in SoCal and this is our spring now and July and August is when our gardens sleep outside of zinnias and dahlias.

Thank you so much! The heat is already picking up here so the daffs and tulips are starting to fade out but I hope you enjoy yours, they’re so much fun to grow. 🌼

Your garden is lovely. I have been gardening east of Tampa for over 40 years. It’s challenging to have “zone envy,” when it comes to Northern gardens!

Thank you so much! I know how you feel, I always push myself to see what I can grow here. I wish we could grow more hydrangeas and peonies. 😍

New subscriber here. You have a beautiful garden!!! I’m in zone 10b in Miami. I never knew snapdragons and tulips grew here. Do you get your plants from big box stores? Thanks for the great video.

Hi! Thanks for following. Yes, we can grow snap dragons and tulips. The tulips don’t last that long but it’s so worth it! I grew them from bulbs, bought them at Lowe’s. I buy most of my plants from our local nurseries except for roses. I buy quite a bit of them online and on occasion will order plants and seed online as well.

I'm so excited about finding your channel! Your gardening style is a lot like mine. I live near Orlando and am trying to learn about gardening in Central Florida. Are your roses on fortuniana root stock? I'm having trouble finding some varieties that I'd love to have on fortuniana and am wondering if it would be worth it to get some on their own roots or on Dr. Huey. I've been told the nematodes in our soil shortens the life of roses. I'd love to hear about your experience with your different roses. Also, how long does your beautiful superbena last? I had problems with spider mites on them last year. Yours are gorgeous!

Hi! Nice to meet a fellow Floridian. I’ve heard fortuniana is best for Florida as well, but I have own root and Dr.Huey as well. So far I haven’t had any issues 🤞🏼 but I try to add a lot of organic matter to the soul to keep it as healthy as I can. Because I use only organic products I do battle with lots of black spot and thrips, so it’s a constant battle. The superbena is so fun to grow, it makes a great ground cover and it seems to be perennial here. Happy gardening! 👒

Thank you! I'm now convinced to try different roses that aren't on fortuniana. There will be a lot more choices. I'll just give them the best soil I can. Thanks!

Hi! Yes, I’m in zone 10a Central Florida. I have PW Little Lime that did great for me the first year but last year it didn’t bloom. Not sure if it was because it received more shade but they’re a bit tricky to grow. I’m trying some out in different areas of the garden. I think our intense summer heat and rain is too much for them but if they’re too shaded then they don’t bloom either. The only one that consistently blooms for me is PW Fairytrail Bride Cascading hydrangea. I’m going to try a macrophylla hydrangea this year and see how it goes.

I’ve ordered online directly from Proven Winners or Great Garden Plants. I also find them in local nurseries.
