I agree that murakami is not everyone's cup of chai... You either end up hate him or love his works. But I'd really appreciate it if you could mention why you didn't like his work. If you say it's because of the adult content in the book then I think both mogamul and amma vanthal also have some controversial parts. But by seeing the intro of the video I wonder whether you are also following the internet trend of hating murakami. Yes, the way he portrays women in his novels are quite controversial but apart from that he talks about many things in his novels. The characters naoko and midori are well written. You didn't speak about any of them. If his works are really that much bad then I don't think he could survive all these years. And Norwegian wood is the one that made him a sensational writer. He talks about various things like loneliness, alienation, identity, purpose, loss and love. And he is one of the best writers to use magical realism in his novels. I feel bad that you didn't like his novel but I know many people who adore his works. So for people who see this comment don't prejudge and choose not to read murakami's. Many of you guys may really fall in love with his works.
