Really excited to share this flip through with you all! I love the setup but… equally itching to make changes again, maybe? Ah!
I start by comparing how my journal pages look in my A5 and A6 Avecs. Which do you like better? Then a peek into my passport Traveler’s Notebook - how it’s laid out and how differently I use it to my Hobonichi.
Also doing a show and tell of my covers and accessories used to decorate those. Half the fun of journaling is pimping your covers and making them yours, right?

hii! I really enjoyed watching this video. I think i feel really similar to you haha. I have the A6 and enjoy it a lottt, but sometimes the A5 interests me. The reason i went with the A6 is that the space in the A5 seems too much for me. I am happy that i went with the A6 because it is less pressure for me to fill it out (on some days i can't fill the full page of the A6). I also recently got myself a TN in regular size, i will use it as a scrapbook, so i don't need to worry about the decorating space in the A6! Thank you so much for the lovely video!!

Hello Lissy! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!! Ah, the age old conundrum of the pressure of having to feel an empty page... That's one of the reasons I've started to collage with my Hobonichi pages by cutting into them and adding different types of paper. I think the act of changing the look of the entire page makes me want to fill up a page a lot less... Having said that, I don't think I've found my perfect balance and way to journal as well as plan well, yet. Maybe next year will be the year, ahaha.

I really enjoyed your comparison between your A5 and A6. I’m more of an A6 fan, but I sometimes get interested in trying the A5, but I think I’d feel similar to you where filling the space is too much like decorating for decorating‘s sake. And I really love your graphic approach to your passport.

Having has some time in the A6 I don't know why I got an A5 last year, haha. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment!

hi, really enjoyed this. really vibed with what you were saying about the a5 and wanting to spend more time doing stuff than writing about it/decorating accordingly. i've been feeling that way lately, wanting to get more functional than anything.

Thank you for watching - glad you agree! I'm also glad to have found your channel and I was watching one of your recent videos the other day going: "yes! exactly. right?!" every few minutes!! Hehe.

I liked your video! I like short-repeat washi tapes, I think because I’m autistic and for me it is calming to look at repeated patterns and images. I’m glad I got to hear your perspective on why you have the opposite preference. 😊

Ooooh! I have never thought about it from a point of view of it being of a calming nature. Seems so logic now you've mentioned it. Given how colour and shape can make us feel so repetition is an obvious contender in that sense, too. And here's me just wanting bang for my buck 🫠 Thank you for watching and commenting!!

forgot to add i love what you said about using your stash! i also have magpie tendencies and get too many things when they catch my eye and then i want to keep them intact, but i'm also learning it's so much fun to use your supplies as intended and preserve them that way 🥰

So tough to do. I actually find it easier to share tapes with friends than using them myself ahaha, seems a much more worthwhile cause for the tapes. But I like what you say about "keeping them intact" and "preservation" - I'd use my tapes and then wrap them back up neatly with their topper stickers each time, if I could... 😂

Thank you for the video PJ! Loved seeing & hearing how your process and attitude towards your journals changed over time - love the using your stuff mindset for this year too, it's hard to do but I agree that it's satisfying when you do use them!

I’ve found that by NOT using things have ruined more than actually using. So use the good washi/stickers.

I think I know what you mean! I've noticed that some if not all stickers can feel very "of that moment". Hamster-ing away stickers has meant that I would miss the perfect time to use them and then the stickers kinda kind of lose their shine a little. If this makes any sense, haha.

loved this and omg such a surprise to be mentioned, haha! i think i ended up being a good influence, no? that cover is SO you and the spine charm !! (love the name) petition to make it a staple at journaling events :)) fits yours so perfectly 🌟 my solution would be to get (or knit 👀) a small pouch that fits both journals and that u can carry around, that way it's almost like you have one book :)) it's what i did and i switch up the journals inside sometimes too, depending on what i use more at any given time. as long as you find urself reaching for both, no reason to switch!

Of course you're a good influence! Every time you post a reel of you setting up your Weeks I want to reach into the video and do an in depth flip through while taking notes! A cover to hold both books is a great idea! @bronteswannick talked about something similar at some point by putting a weeks inside a B6 cover to use with her commonplace notebook?! I'm not too sure of the exact combo now...
