Very interesting/cool update, Richard. A bit of a stroll down Memory Lane with some firsts and more to see. Sorry about the class 60, but nice to see the Class 37 is coming along! Anyhow, always great to get an update from the Hill! Cheers and best wishes!

Hi mate! Yeah, always good to go down memory lane! I managed to sort the class 60 last night, needed quite a lot of work in the end! Bit disappointing to have to do it but main thing is it's all sorted!

Great video. I enjoyed seeing your stock, tge storage boxes and I have similar however they are 12x12 and can hold seven or eight locis; they really help to deal with the original box storage problem as you describe. I liked your trees and have made some myself by picking dead flowers from the garden, spraying with adhesive/hairspray and applying various flock. One thing I need to do is add putty or tape to the trunk. The skips and boxes look good, I have taken to try scratch building instead of buying as living in Toronto becomes an expensive proposition in terms of postage. Your 3D components look great and this brings another level of excitement to the community. I have a printer; it prints ABS and I have printed buffer stops successfully although I am thinking of changing to the resin type which I think printed your components, a bit more clean up required but they do provide a great level of detail. My layout is DC and I am too far in to change now. It would require selling mist of my collection, keeping those locos which could be converted, do all tge wiring which could be a nightmare etc. I’ve subscribed and look forward to seeing more of what you are up to. Having the storage boxes really helps, looking forward to getting the original ones up in the loft ASAP. 3D printing is really a game changing I think - in 5-10 years I think things will be even more impressive! Lots of people still swear by DC and I've seen some stunning layouts operated on DC!

Great update Richard, you're working on some nice stock. I may be wrong but I didn't think the Hornby 60 had any screws to hold the body on? Hopefully you'll find the reason for the motor bogie being so loose.

You're right! I actually fixed it last night, the whole bogie was ruined. I had to basically re-build half of the bogie frame from plasticard. The body wouldn't sit right because at some point some one had put some heat-shrink under the light pick ups to get a better contact, but it had gone hard and so wouldn't allow the body to clip into place. All fixed now and I've detailed one of the ends. Interestingly there seems to be two slightly different toolings, the accessories from 60070 didn't fit 60007 and vice versa.

For the wheels, Why do you not just replace them. Far cheaper than replacing them. The coach you think is a Mk1 is actually a 57ft Stanier LMS brake. I do not think they were ever used in South Wales. But with a bit of imagination I am sure that you could find a reason for it being their. Part of a heritage train perhaps.

Hi, You talked about the Lima parcels van and the TA tankers in the video that the wheels were running on the chairs and that you may sell them. Just thought it would be more cost efficient to buy better wheels. Unless the cost of the etchings you also mentioned for the tanks made it too expensive to do them all. At 5.50 in the video you show a maroon carriage that you thought was a Mk1. As I said it is not a Mk1 but a 57ft Stanier LMS brake. It think you are doing a wonderful job with this layout, Good luck with it in the future.

Hi Nicholas. The 58 runs fine, could be hardwired but I don't think I will do that. It doesn't fit in my period that I'm modelling. So I'm just going to keep it safe and sound!
