Age of Madness is AMAZING. Last Argument of Kings and The Wisdom of Crowds are my favorite Abercrombie's books! Now you're making me want to reread the series from the beginning again! :')

I've watched every interview Abercrombie has done that's been uploaded to KZbin. Multiple times... 😅 He's nowhere near done with First Law, but it'll be years until he returns to it because of the new series he's working on. But he said that when he does come back to First Law, he wants to stick to the format of three standalones followed by a trilogy. And when he talks about it you can tell that he already has plans for what those books will be but is keeping it secret for now.

Yeah he's been pretty open about it yet I see so many people convinced that the opposite is true. I'm starting my re-read as soon as I'm caught up on Kingkiller Chronicle.

@thatsci-firogue Yeah, he's made it clear several times, but not everyone is as obsessed as us to watch all his interviews, I guess. 😂 Rereading First Law is super rewarding, so enjoy! I love Kingkiller as well and have reread those too.

I read Stoner in January. I enjoyed it so much. I just started my journey with First Law back in Dec. The Blade Itself had been on my tbr for like 6 years and I finally read it. I'm going to read Before They Are Hanged sometime this month. So I still have almost all the books left to read. I'm glad I started this series.

I'm thinking of doing a re-read of the entirty of the First Law universe after I'm caught up on Kingkiller Chronicles. I need my Grimdark fix. It was a slow month for me but I'm enjoying the slower pace. I read/finished: *Fantasy* Malazan BotF 1: Gardens of the Moon (re-read) - I liked it the first time but this was a fantastic re-read. I've already started my re-read of Deadhouse Gates 😁 *Historical-Fantasy* Under Heaven / Guy Gavriel Kay - Easily the best book I read this month. *Urban Fantasy* Dresden Files 1: Storm Front (re-read) - Definitely smoother on the re-read, for me the series didn't start cooking until Grave Peril but for now the Dresden re-reads will do as palate cleansers for now. I also started reading from N.K Jemisin's collection How Long Til Black Future Month and I'm really enjoying it so far, just going to slot in a short story here and there. I've found myself reading too many tomes because I'm still reading Dragonbone Chair, Name of the Wind as well as starting my re-read of Deadhouse Gates

I definitely need to get to the Lady Trent books. It sounds right up my alley. I also love nature and evolutionary theory. I won the first book several months ago. I just need to get the rest.

So from your comments about 'A Natural History of Dragons' I think you'd definitely love reading Charles De Lint. Also have you ever read 'Practical Magic' by Alice Hoffman? I think that would be a good fit for you. February was a good month for me. I read 4 novels and 7 comic books: The Red: First Light - Linda Nagata Dogs of War - Adrian Tchaikovsky Exhalation - Ted Chiang Juniper Wiles & the Ghost Girls - Charles De Lint Insurrection - Dan Abnett/Colin MacNeil (comic book) Gideon Falls - Books 1 to 6 - Jeff Lemire/Andrea Sorrentino (comic book) Awesome story and amazing art.

Yesss Age of Madness is so good, and I also am hoping we get more in the First Law world so badly! I loved Sharp Ends also, so there’s another vote for more of those characters. Thrilled to see another person enjoying Lady Trent, it’s just more impetus for me to pick them up (I’ve got book 1 ready to go)

I have a few priority series, but now you make me want to go back to Abercrombie so bad! I only read the first trilogy and absolutely loved it, and can't believe I read none of his books in 2022. I'm currently in the middle of The Warlord Chronicles (book #2 - loving it) and was burning to continue on The Longprice Quartet (read book #1), and then I joined two readalongs hosted by Allen because I can't control myself. 😅 Booktube just keeps adding to the pile. 🤪 Jane Eyre should also finally be read this year! So curious to see what I'll think as I had push it down the list after Murphy Napier's negative review a few years ago. 😅 The fact you're almost done with three more books (was it 3?) makes me think you actually read a lot in February! 🙀 Very curious to hear your thoughts about all those reads, especially Doors of Eden and Stoner. 🤗

I'm half debating on going back to Abercrombie. I did the first trilogy and enjoyed it but not enough to continue. I believe if I looked back at first law as a dark comedy rather than grim dark I would enjoy it way more

OMG Leo was such an ass!! Righteous + stupid is a most hateable combination. And did I forget homophobe? I wanted him to get punched so bad 😂 But at least he's responsible for the single funniest scene in the trilogy imo, when he catches his friends 'wrestling' HAHAHA

I HATE him. Even thinking about him fills me with anger. Abercrombie has joined Robin Hobb as an author who can fill me with blind rage by how well he writes a hateable character. (But yes, his absolute stupidity was funny in that instance 😅)
