Let me just say for all you confused people - as a long time club DJ, this set is not pre-recorded and is executed with a lot of skill. He's an extremely talented DJ and his transitions, FX and deck management is amazing. HOWEVER, and it is a big however, there is an ENORMOUS amount of unnecessary theatrical knob touching which is what is confusing a lot of people on here. I can only imagine its theatrics which DJs from the era in which he got big felt was necessary. About a quarter of what is doing is actually functional. I agree that its boring to see DJs that are inanimate and have a lazy work rate but I feel this amount of extraneous theatrical twiddling undermines his true very high skill levels and gives DJs a bad name as "fakers".

When I mix especially after a few beers , I do the same over playing with the mixer. Alot of the time I dont touch anything but going over the mixer with my hands reassures me the levels are where I want them especially when a mix is on. If you watch the video he does the same. Several times his hands run over the mixer but doesn't touch anything. Just making sure everything is where he wants it. Your right it can confuse people but every dj has their own way of doing things. The man is a talent and there are so many people who are quick to hate.

look at the channel faders, there is times he is supposedly mixing2 tracks, with no headphones on. perfect timing, then shit he would be better, that then all dj's of the world, including scratch dj's like qbert, i know i can scratch for real too, , no track queing at all, haha, and no fader movement between transitions, fake as hell, notice one fader is always up, so how to transition like that?what he is really dong is transition from ready mix to another ready made mix, nothing that he is doing is making sense for the mix to sound like this, at all.

Guys, stop asking why he is moving so much! He is an entertainer, he is a dj and entertainer. He will entertain you both, audio and visual. I was doing it as well, very often. Sherm In The Booth well, he's skilled enough to be really busy with the decks instead of doing this fake thing and touching buttons you dont use. Thats why I dont get it

He has some nerves or something, if you take a close look to his hands sometimes they're shakin as hell. But what I'm trying to say is, he is skilled enough to play with 4 decks and jamming around. That keeps him moving too and improves the quality of the set. I get it from those pre-recorded djs but Fedde could actual doing great stuff while being cool. And since this isn't on stage he has the space, possibility and focus to play around with all those things. I love this set and I love Fedde but I think you get the point :-)

Reus I know every knob on the DJM and CDJ, he touch the speed adjustments, nothing happened, also NOT in the headphone. those knobs are controllers for how a track starts play/pause. If you adjust this speed you do that sometimes if needed, not every 5-10 seconds without changing it either. It has nothing to do with the low, mid or high EQ. Know what you are saying.
