To be honest when I first saw the truth I really didn't think It was an accident. I genuinely thought Sunny had to have a reason. I wasn't spoiled on the ending entirely but I did know Sunny was hiding something. I ultimately thought the big reveal was going to be that Mari abused Sunny behind closed doors and that Basil only had assisted Sunny in her murder directly to save Sunny. When I saw the pictures towards the end I still held that notion that Mari had done something to Sunny. I never thought that Sunny's eteneral staircases correlated to the stairs Mari fell down to, but rather how Sunny refused to come out of his room as to not encounter Mari but without fail she would meet him there. I was ultimately way off but at first glance yes its very easy to not think it was an accident.

I remember seeing it the first time or in fact not seeing it. I saw the first few frames and started crying so much I couldn't even look. And even so, just the music perfectly gave me the same feelings I experienced later when I watched the full scene. Omori might not be my favourite story of all time but just this moment hits me right in the heart every time. I love this game and still whenever I see this scene or just hear the music my stomach feels worse and my eyes start to water. I just want Mari to be alive...😢
