Our 1953 Federal Enterprises Model 7 had an orginal plate on housing calling it a Model 7 CO. (coding option) The damper was never installed on the siren It is in the attic of our firehouse soon to be placed in our new museum.

Sounds like a 5/7, 7 port (low tone). The damper is mounted on top of siren under cone part of housing. It cuts air to siren intake which on this model type, is on the top of the siren. It is operated by a magnetic solenoid. The STL and STH 10s' air intake is from bottom of siren. The 2T & 3T22s have intakes on top and bottom. 3T22 uses 2 dampers.

Our town used to have one of these, but the damper was stuck partially closed. It had a set of brass, 1940's-era code wheels that could be used for long and short blasts for various purposes.

Doubt it. Probably an old Fedelcode with a replacement housing. Pretty sure federal signal never made coded Model 5/7's. I thought Fedelcode was for only coded sirens but obviously not because most Fedelcodes don't have a damper lol. The fedelcode name is soooooo deceiving
