Sadly I doubt very much that they were humiliated. That would require that they believe they are wrong and have some moderate amount of remorse. I doubt either are true. Though they are not likely humiliated.... They are likely on notice. I'll take that every day of the week. Being a fed and having been pulled over for driving too nice a vehicle seems more a rite of passage.. or perhaps a right of passage. Oh... and I don't think I was being pulled over for being a Fed either ;)

Bernalillo County and Sherese Crawford reached a $100,000 settlement agreement in connection with three stops by sheriff’s deputies on Interstate 40 around Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

NOT charging her doesn't mean she didn't commit the crimes. How many times was Philando Castile charged with breaking the law? If you don't have a driver's license, insurance and more BUT the judge lets him off with all but one charge it isn't seen as being nice it is seen as the officer didn't have a reason to stop this black and charge him multiple times. When you drive the same way to work and home, you are identified by the same officer and are stopped multiple times with no license or insurance the cop is DOING THEIR JOB. SINCE WHEN HAS BREAKING THE LAW BEEN OK IF YOU'RE BLACK? Thanks to the lockdowns, I lost the ability to buy a car because I wasn't going to drive a car without INSURANCE. When you have something to lose you don't put yourself in a position to lose everything.

May we politely suggest the following de-escalation for remedy? THE TRUST IS COLLAPSED....in other words, your company is no longer granting them any more credit. If the policeman is not lawfully investigating the crime on behalf of the male/female victim and is entering YOUR company jurisdiction without you summonsing them, then would it not be advisable to be politely placing YOUR public-servants/trustees under your notification that your company is charging $707 per hour/part-there-of for YOUR company time and also $717 for YOUR company performance?....and that any further communicating (verbal) and/ or corresponding (written) with your company, is with them accepting the terms & conditions of the commercial contract IN THE PRIVATE (the cop and their CHIEF and their POLICE UNION is now with PERSONAL liability.... because Notice-to-Agent-is-Notice-to-Principal....and also through JOINDER....and they also lose their qualified immunity) This way, you are NOT resisting/refusing to obey/comply with their orders/demands/policy /questions, but instead, you are now willing to perform WITH THE CONDITION that payment is with your company immediately, because you have NO CONFIDENCE with them administrating YOUR company trust! THE PUBLIC TRUST IS COLLAPSED...Why is YOUR company issuing them extra credit! Are YOU not the executor and the beneficiary of YOUR trust?...making them the trustees, whom are with their fiduciary obligation and duty-of-care to be NOT causing you injury nor damage nor loss nor harm. Is THEIR job YOUR job? Is THEIR company policy YOUR company policy? not unless and until they are PAYING for your company time & performance THE CONSTRUCTIVE TRUST IS COLLAPSED...YOUR company is no longer performing free-of-charge! You may be willing to pursue the matter through the small-claims-court and/or through arbitration which is held in-the-private because PUBLIC court is only for the PUBLIC servant. YOUR TRUST FUND IS NOW WITH RESTORATION....YOUR company is now making money from every encounter with YOUR public-servants because the days of doing something with your trustees for free are over. PS-Be the BUSINESS man with the public-servants.....NOT the victim. Power corrupts-Those whom seek power seek their own corruption.

No, that's how they are trained because people are more likely to illegally refuse to identify themselves (when driving a motor vehicle you are legally required to identify yourself when pulled over) once they know why they are being pulled over and have the opportunity to argue against it on the street. That leads to more unnecessary arrests for failure to identify.

I knew a black cop who worked the evening shift, so he often drove home in the smalll hours of the morning. He was pulled over so many times for driving while black that he started filing official complaints about it. The white cops used coded language -- "a bad hire" -- to refer to him as an uppity black man who didn't know his place, and the department became so toxic for him that they were forced to pull him out of the field and put him behind a desk because his life was at risk. When I knew him, he was buried in the public relations department and knew his time was limited. He told me that eventually the current chief would leave and the new one, who didn't know the background, would be poisoned against him and find reason to fire him.

Did the officer call in the plate, and then pulled her over ? She was pulled over three times in one month ? She was pulled over for driving too slow ? Some of us have been pulled over for no apparent reason (PA) and given tickets, or had false reports written (FL, CT). Targeting anyone is illegal, no matter what race or gender. I am sorry that happened to her, and if it was the same officer, I file a compliant ! Conversely, not all police officers have bad intentions, however, those who display conduct unbecoming to the department they represent, or commit crime MUST be held accountable.

They target you if you are any color if you are not rich.I know when I drove a new truck I never got pulled over. When I drove my 30 year old beater I got pulled over all the time.I still lawyered up. Never pay a ticket.Always get an attorney that way the system does not make money off of you and if they do its very little. Deny them.

No my friend, but I do understand.I had a friend working with me in 2005.I got pulled over because I passed a detective on the shoulder of the road. When they came to my side of the truck, they had me walk over to their car while they checked my liscense. At the same time they spent 10 minutes bitching out my friend who was a passenger.lol He had been out of prison about 2 years and was a good guy, hard working and everything. But they focused their attention on him saying "are you keeping your nose clean" type bullshit. We were 2 counties away from where we lived.Police are selected by how much of a dick they will be.They love the ones who were picked on in school.I lost respect for them when I had to spend 10,000 for an attorney to prove I was innocent even though the guilty dude came forth. What I see happening is divide and conquer in this country. There are people at the very top who run the show have spent billions to make whites and blacks, hispanics not get along. And as long as they can do that, they will always be in power. Its about 25 people in Europe,Usa and Isreal,Saudi Arabia running the show. Its not the average blue collar working guy.We are feeling it too.

For about 5 months I drove my lowered Black CRX around New Mexico. I was stopped 6 times for no reason other than the car I drove. I loved watching the cops walk slowly up to the car with their hand on their gun until they saw a 51 year old white dude. They never asked for my license and papers. Not once. They just let me go. I never got stopped in Bernalillo County, but in Los Alamos where I worked, and then south around TorC, Hatch, Deming and around Columbus where we had a house. After the second time I was getting testy, but being a white guy, nothing happened.

Law Enforcement insurance where officers would be personally liable for damages as well as the municipality. Hitting officers in their pockets. After several payouts, an Insurance Carrier will drop the officer. No insurance, no employment. No jumping from one municipality to another. Qualified Immunity being removed would be even better.

Drive a nice car while black and you could be a drug dealer. Drive a piece of junk while black and you could be a felon on parole. Maybe the govt. should just put out a list of which cars it is acceptable for black people to drive.

I had not been pulled over for over 25 years and all of a sudden I kept getting pulled over after I moved to an area to help my mom with ALS. For the life of me, I could not understand what was going on. Then one day I realized my mom had a house that e rented on the same property and it had the same address. The guy who rented was shady and I started thinking they must think I am with him. The next time they pulled me over this time for a light they said was out that was not I asked why am I getting pulled over. Well, we have a lot of drugs going through town and with that, I knew that man was the cause. I looked up his name and he had been busted for drugs in the past. It is a bad feeling that every time you go to town they seem to be waiting. They never gave me a ticket in all the times they stopped me but did take away my time and peace of mind. My last moving violation was in 1985, and I drove over 100 miles a day for work for 20-plus years.

At what point is a situation racial profiling versus profiling with races one of the components? I ask because colleges can use race in determining Admissions as long as it's not the only factor and that's been held to be completely legal by the Supreme Court. Bearing in mind that driving is a privilege not a right.
