The plane involved in this accident was retired recently in late of 2022, According to people who have went to the aircraft there are still dents in the cockpit and nearby areas from the fight.

All of these manouvres were made as an attempt to subdue the hijacker The plane even exceeded its design limit for speed and landing weight Kudos to the pilots for managing this

This DC-10-30F, registered as N306FE, suffered an estimated $800,000 in damages. But the plane was repaired and returned to service, eventually receiving the glass cockpit retrofit, and is still in service with FedEx until it is retired, alongside the rest of the MD-10 fleet by the end of 2023. I can only hope that this plane with end up in a museum, but in its livery during the attempted hijacking.

@@fnafworldfredbear1492 The DC-10 fleet of FedEx were reclassified as MD-10, after they were refitted with the glass cockpits used in the MD-11 fleet for type commonality. This upgrade eliminated the need for a flight engineer. So I guess the DC-10 or MD-10 designations can be interchangeable. So here is an aviation trivia.
