Finally was able to get out of the house to record something. This yellow trashbeam has been on my bucket list for quite awhile. It had decent punch, and the reflector disk surprisingly works very well for a design being as "out there" as you can find on sirens. I've actually been trying to capture something from Newark for well over a year now, but each time I have gone, either they don't test or the particular siren I go to record fails. It was quite windy as well, but thankfully it didn't affect the recording very much. I will hopefully be seeing sirens more frequently soon, at least until my senior year of high school starts in mid-August.

Does Newark still have that Thunderbolt 1000? I believe it uses a 5M blower.

Yes they do. The rotator is still broken however. I’ve been hearing rumors that it will be moved onto a pole in the east side of town to cover a coverage gap, though that is just a rumor at this point in time. It would make sense considering how oversaturated downtown Newark is.
