Wait a minute.. You think 2 semi famous duck hunters from Texas showed up for opening day of duck season in Arkansas on public land and "invited" a dozen or so more guns to join their hole?? Brother you got a lot to learn.. Flip the script and say 2 random middle aged dudes from Texas showed up.. No cameras or beards or youtube channel and they would've been sent to the back of the line... Hell Bayou Meto dude's don't even get along with Dave D folks and they're in the same state..

Glad y'all found some water and ducks this year though!👍

@@thefowlhunter Hunting ducks on public land in Arkansas has a huuuge barrier to entry.. It ain't for the faint of heart. I love that you guys focus on public land because that's the way it should be.. As far as the future ambassadors of the sport it won't change.. You're either in a sweet club, a hard ass that is relentless in the pursuit of the all mighty green head on public or you're neither and a weekend warrior that will eventually give up....

I quit duck hunting because of the whole duck commander fad, we have people coming from all over the country here. It’s ridiculous. I wish people wouldn’t post where they are hunting. I deer hunt and having hunters line up at the ramp 2 weeks before season and running all over the slough really hurts deer hunting. Especially the mud motors

This year's Blue 4 box of Federal shells frequently sold at Walmart & academy are really bad shells. They don't have the knockdown power. This has been the case so far this season. Reports from a bunch of hunters using different guns. Black cloud has always been a decent shell so im not speaking bad on those. Yall need to take those other shells off the market.

All that calling before shooting light is a waste of breath.. Them ducks were coming regardless.. Sometimes you just gotta stick it your vest and sit back and enjoy the show. Makes for a better video when you can hear the real thing over Cousin Terry 12 trees down highballing in the moonlight! LOL Here's a pro tip. When you're in the timber with mallards trying to cover you up 10-15 minutes before shooting light all you have to do is kick the damn water and create movement.. Breaking out that new duck call that sounds completely unnatural is a huge waste of time and you're educating those birds whether you realize it or not..
@thefowlhunter2 жыл бұрын
thanks for the pro tip Chris! Sometimes what you perceive as reality is a little different when you get to actually be there. None of those birds started hitting a hole until the calls started working that morning. if we hadn't called, they may have hit the hole 100 yards down the lane, who really knows. what I do know for sure, because I was there, it didn't hurt us and it added to the fun for everyone there. always appreciate the input and hope you are having the best season ever!

@@thefowlhunter Well I dang sure wasn't trying to give YOU a pro tip.. I love that ya'll hunt predominately public land and are willing to go to any length to get after em.. And you're right who really knows how a morning is gonna play out! I killed one of my biggest deer on public land thanks to another hunter and done the same with ducks by sticking my call in my vest and using a jerk string and kicking the water while listening to some terrible calling from another group hundreds of yards away.. My season hasn't started yet because it was 75 degrees this past weekend in the North MS Delta all the way to North Arkansas.. Us outdoor working contractors gotta take advantage of that.. Hopefully we'll bump into each other in Jan..

@@thefowlhunter First off, before all of y’all out of staters came here to Arkansas we could kill limits every day of the season, but now we can’t even get a hole without having to wake up at 2:30 in the morning and run when we get to the woods. Second off, us residence to Arkansas who either live on the river or have a cabin can’t even get any sleep from 12:00 in the morning for the dang mud motors that everyone has to run these days because it makes them “better” than everyone else. And also there shouldn’t be people come try to run you out of a hole because they are scared that you will get their ducks when they swing around to your hole. There needs to be a permit that someone has to put their name into a drawing and you get told what hole you and your group are aloud to hunt with a limit of 10 people so that people can hunt in peace. People are coming here and killing 3 ducks and some how they are having a good time. I mean I would get it if they were at least getting to see big groups in like y’all did in the video but that only ever happens on opening day if that but this opening day there wasn’t hardly any water which is why they had to hunt in a slue. Used to be people could go hunting and see twice as many ducks than they did even though it seemed like they had a lot of ducks. Also. The people that are parked in a line at the boat ramp by lake ash ball for a week before duck season and the boat races just proves how stupid people really are. Thanks

@@alexpratt138 your state puts those rules in place brother, not us. I personally am pretty sure that your state putting even more rules in place may not be the answer but certainly respect your perspective, thank you for the explanation. I believe that if you and me don't get more people involved in this sport, this way of life will eventually go away. we are incredibly thankful for you sharing your great state during migratory bird season and believe we are blessed to get to share time in the trees with so many other folks, from so many different places, with the same passion and respect for one another, especially when we get to see birds work like that. @@thefowlhunter I understand that we need to keep this sport up but it definitely won’t last if it’s not good enough for the next generation to enjoy it. I have a good buddy that brought his son on his first duck hunt ever last year and this year he doesn’t want anything to do with it because it was so bad last year, so if something doesn’t change then eventually the sport will just fade out.
