Federation Tests Genesis Device

This came about by accident, so it's short. It's basically a couple of test renders stitched together. I was testing how to do a texture swipe and styling some trees. This is the result 😄

Bit off topic, but I always thought that Phoenix would have been a better name for the device. Genesis is the creation of life from nothingness. Phoenix on the other hand is a better connotation for the purpose of the device, life from death.

very nice work. Ship model looked a little small in scale next to the evergreen's though. You can get a good feel for the comparison in "Generations" when the saucer section crashes into a forest.

Ah Genesis torp all that destruction from a 5' torpedo. Even if it's fired on a fleet of enemy ships most will be destroyed and create a new world.

Nicely done. Doubt that given the dubious nature of how the original Genesis device was created that ethically, the Federation could engage in that field of research with the intend to terraform a lifeless planet. The planet would also have to have a star capable of sustaining the planet, not too hot, not too cold. You know, the "Goldilocks" zone.

All of this begs the question: How would the United Federation of Planet's Earth (Humans) feel about Earth Alliance's Earth (Humans)? Which is the real Earth? Of course in TOS there was a copy of Earth in one of the episodes.

What ever happened to that darn Genesis device ? It's a great plot device that was in a couple TOS movies over forty years ago and hasn't been seen since. Was it ever in the TNG ?

No it was never in TNG. More than likely, according to the movie, the Genesis Device was made using protomatter, an unstable and unpredicatable element that every scientist in the Federation has denounced. At least according to Saavik.

No idea, I've seen plenty of fed ships in atmospheres and since they all use the same tech. I think they just do it 'as necessary', don't you?
