Greatest performance by the greatest player ever
@SHVideografie Жыл бұрын
The crazy thing is: Blake was playing an amazing tournament. Completely white washed Nadal in the 2nd set tiebreak in RR and overpowered Nalbandian in the SF. But was dismantled by Federer. His best bh performance ever imo.

The day that Blake was facing two 'Federer Forehands'
@pierdomenicosommati4439 ай бұрын
This is why I always think that the 1HBH is potentially a superior shot than the double hander. Look at this backhand, than look at his 2017 backhand: two different interpretation of the shot, both perfectly lethal for the two different pool of opponents he was facing, and for the different technical equipments (racquet, strings) of these two eras. Of course, here he was in his full prime so he was much stronger, steadier, he could rally all the day no problem and hit the winner at the 1st occasion... but the efficiency of his backhand was equally amazing in 2017, with the plus that some time off the circuit, training with Edberg and Ljubicic, and a new racquet, had allowed him to finally adjust to the very high bouncing spin of Nadal's wicked forehand. I don't think that any 2HBH can ever be so lethal as both these one handers, so heavy, so impossible to be read (we also have to consider that the backhand was NEVER considered his best shot!). Or better said, perhaps it can on a single shot, but at the price of very big risks of errors, because power and spin are produced in such a more natural and more effortless way with one hand.

I chuckle when people say Federer's backhand was better in 2015 than in his prime. This was when his backhand was at its peak - this match.

2003-07 forehand way better than now. 2004-06 backhand is level with 2017 backhand
@gameblack866 жыл бұрын
Matt Morgan No, the backhand of today is much better than his prime. He’s more consistent with it, and he uses it as a weapon much more now. We’re not just talking about how hard he hits it.

@@christianlee9360 Blake is not a consistent player but he was on fire at this tournament. He beat Nadal on Round Rubin in a very tough match and surpassed Nalbandian on semi-final. Federer had beaten Nalbandian, Ljubicic, Roddick in a raw on Round Rubin. Then he beat Nadal on semi-fina in a classy wayl. But this match was something else. Blake was actually played really good but he faced arguably the most unbeatable Federer ever..
