FEDERICA ARTUSO - Classical Guitar Concert on a Fabio Zontini Papier mâché Guitar | Siccas Guitars

We are pleased to present a concert by Italian classical guitarist Federica Artuso, who plays on a paper mache guitar made by renowned Italian luthier Fabio Zontini. This guitar is inspired by the FE 14 by Torres (1862), now preserved at the Museu de la Musica in Barcelona. The strings are made of gut. Federica performs a mix of short and evocative pieces by South American and Spanish composers: Tarrega and Llobet, who owned the Torres Papier-Mâché guitar, and Maria Luisa Anido, brilliant heir to the poetics of Miguel Llobet.

I don't know if it's due to Frederica's beautiful playing, left handed no less, but the Papier mache back guitar sounds more melodic than a lot of the regular ones, albeit with a slightly different but very interesting sound. Nice trebles and basses. Double sides, arched or doubled back etc. - amazing how different concepts can work.

Federica yo soy también zurdo y me gustaría saber si en el Conservatorio te pusieron problemas con la manera de tocar la guitarra. A mi me gustaría aprender también me gustaría saber como llevas la cifra y la partitura. A mi me enseñaron algo de flamenco, pero lo he aprendido tocando como los diestros. Creo que podría aprender clásico tocando con mi mano dominante, o sea la izquierda. Respóndeme por favor que es que los zurdos tenemos el mismo problema. Gracias.

Personally, if I even hear it amongst the very pretty performance, it adds to the human aspect of the performance. Too much of our World is geared to absolute perfection and almost feels mechanical, some actually being mechanical and the technology being so good as to fool all but the most descerning. Just my 8nexoert, but appreciative, opinion.
