Most of his songs were composed by himself. Had a knack for it since he was young. I don't know about this particular songs since there aren't many records detailing the author of songs such as this. The lyrics itself is brilliant but I doubt it would shine as brightly as it does without the style and spark of the artist. Brilliant musician all round.
