FedNow launched in midst of banking crisis, is it a precursor to CBDCs, 'totalitarian' control?

Richard Werner, Economics Professor and Author of "Princes of the Yen," and Michelle Makori, Editor-in-Chief and Lead Anchor at Kitco News, discuss the Federal Reserve's FedNow instant payments system, and whether it will be used to usher in Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), digital tokens issued and controlled by central banks. CBDCs are not just another fiat currency. It is worse than fiat. CBDCs replace money with vouchers. This is true for most people, but not for criminal organizations, who will set up shell businesses to launder their money, and thus keep their transactions completely private, by private, I mean, they will stream bullshit to the Fed and the feds will be none the wiser. And don’t think this is a giant concern to the Fed, they tell you they’re worried about counterfeiting, drug dealers and prostitutes, and yet they fund politicians in the CIA year after year, who are drug dealers and prostitutes. All they’re concerned about is knowing as much as they can about as many people as possible so they can centrally plan and control their political, yes, political is the keyword and not economic, power.

The history of FedGov over the last three decades teaches us the last thing we should have is more federal centralization. Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars stressed that one of the highest priorities was complete knowledge of EVERY transaction. CBDC will justify war.

Great interview and explanation. Disagree slightly on one point, that of existing banks not vetting/vetoing individual transactions. My UK account with one of the big four banks very quickly blocked transfers to Binance for crypto purchases and they remain blocked to this day, even though Binance jumped through the hoops required to satisfy UK regulations. This of course was done "for my protection".

I still don't think people understand the insane power and capabilities of programmable money. Even WITH such insightful interviews such as these. You could do a one hour segment on various circumstances and examples of programmability. SOME of those example are overwhelmingly positive. Truly an apocalyptic picture. But, doesn’t such a system have inbuilt within it the seeds of its own destruction? After all, the currency is ultimately just a medium of exchange and a store of value. The currency is not the economy. The economy is all of the countless transactions that take place, locally, regionally and internationally. Farmers will still be producing food, carpenters will still have their services to sell, etc. Surely, once the social, political and economic costs of the central currency become clear, alternatives will arise, whether that be barter, locally traded currencies, time-banks or the good old black market. Once the owners that be realise that they are actually losing more control than they had before, I can see the whole system imploding.

Those things are already illegal. That's wonderfull oportunity for totalitarian state to remove possibilities for any form of independence from its citizens (see SSSR,Cuba...). Basically CBDC's will make everybody totaly dependand on The Government which can at any time "delete" you or your company from the society. The trial run was done on Canadian truckers and it worked great. That's our bright future now -- CBDC's tied to our "Digital ID", "Carbon credit","Vaccination status" and "Social credit score". We've already had restrictions on leaving one's own country (Canada,Australia,NZ) like it was in former Eastern Block,North Korea or Cuba,blocking of "unwanted" bank accounts,removal of non-Party members(unvaccinated) from the society, ("accidental"?)explosion of energy prices,creation of perpetual war ("1984") and CBDC's are already legalized and pre-prepared just waiting for the implementation.

Rather than repair the economy by slashing government spending, government believes that politically that possible solution is too politically difficult. Besides, vested political interests would risk losing power. Better than to let the economy lose it's potential until the public begs for help. CBDC then comes to the rescue. But the cost shall be our freedom.

That isn't how it works at all. Good God you are naive! It has been long planned, no vested political interests would lose power, they are all under the control of the central bankers. Their end goal is the equivalent of communism, where the central bankers have everything and everyone else has nothing or next to nothing. "90% of communizing a country is having a central bank." - Vladimir Lenin. Communism is a central banker funded ideology. I believe it was Nathan Rothschild who paid Marx 3000 English pounds to write his communist manifesto. The check used to be in the London museum. This has been in the works for over 100 years.

The other way to see it is the monopoly board game. In a nutshell you have the central bank and the players. Except now the central bank wants to be a player, and when you can create currency from thin air, you are going to buy up everything. Hence monopoly, checkmate.
