SEAL BEACH, California (June 3, 2009) Russian combat fighting legend Fedor The Last Emperor Emelianenko defends his WAMMA heavyweight title against No. 1 contender Josh The Babyfaced Assassin Barnett, when Affliction M1Global presents its third major mixed martial-arts show, Trilogy, Saturday night, August 1 live on pay-per-view from Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The monster card has been separated into two live broadcasts in the same night. A one-hour special will air on HDNet starting at 7:30 PM/ET (4:30 PM/PT), followed by a sensational pay-per-view event, Trilogy, commencing at 9 PM/ET (6 PM/PT).
Trilogy, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and presented by Affliction M-1 Global in association with Donald J. Trump, features many of the premier MMA fighters in the world, including former undisputed PRIDE® heavyweight champion Emelianenko (30-1-0), star of Afflictions first two shows.
Fedor defeated a pair of former UFC® heavyweight title-holders, Tim Maine-iac Sylvia (SUB1) in Affliction Banned and Andrei The Pitbull Arlovski (KO1) in Day Of Reckoning, a Honda Center. Emelianenko is undisputedly the most lethal man in MMA and the definitive heavyweight mix-martial-arts fighter in the world. His only loss came in 2000, the result of an illegal elbow thrown by Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, which caused a cut so severe that officials had to stop the fight out of safety to the fighter.
In addition to being the best heavyweight fighter in the world, Fedor is also Russias most popular performer and a genuine Russian icon, the darling of the Kremlin and a favorite of former Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who has regularly attended his fights. In addition to the aforementioned Sylvia and Arlovski, Emelianenkos resume includes impressive triumphs against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (twice), Mirko Filipovic and Heath Herring.
Emelianenkos stiffest career challenge, however, remains ahead in Trilogy against another former UFC heavyweight champion, Barnett (24-5-0), who has the size (6-3, 250-pounds), strength, conditioning and experience to present problems for any fighter, even Fedor. Barnetts punching power forced Gilbert The Hurricane Yvel to submit at Day Of Reckoning and Josh stopped Pedro Rizzo in the second round of their fight on Affliction Banned.
Barnetts victims also include Randy Couture, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Jeff Monson and Dan Savern. The Babyfaced Assassin has already defeated one Emelianenko, Fedors brother Aleksander, back in 2006 by second-round submission (keylock).

i never said anderson, mir and brock sucked, also fedor did not nessicarily take less money, 1st off m1 made the deal not fedor (he is on contract with them for 3 more fights) next m1 gets 50% of the profits from all events strikeforce throws (fedor owns 20% of m1 and is paid by them) so if stikeforce events do very well (cbs will be picking up strikforce this season and it will be aired on national tv) which they propably will he could be looking at a huge paycheck

alot of fighters fight at their normal weight, just most cut, most hw fighters don't cut and there are plenty of fighters that have been in divisions where they don't cut bj penn fought lyoto at a catch weight 10 lbs above his natural weight and lyoto still outweighed him (bj walks around at about 160-170)

Agreed. But what does that mean? Can't even take down Randy Couture? Like it's easy? Guaranteed, Randy is harder to takedown than Fedor. Fedor presents totally other problems than Randy, but Couture has that on him. Not that it matters, Fedor could submit Lesnar off of his back. Mir far from sucks off of his back, and both Randy and Mir can beat Lesnar. Also, Fedor gives the best answer I've ever heard to that kind of question at 2:30.

Well it wasn't removed but yeh it should be. Good wrestlers have had no problem taking Fedor down (Coleman, Randleman, even Linland). When Fedor fought Hunt, Hunt competely controlled Fedor from side mount but he had no GnP to follow up because he's a kickboxer. Imagine a bigger and stronger Lesnar with brutal GnP in that position. I'm not saying Lenar would beat Fedor, I'm just saying that he very well could.

Lesnar signed with the UFC because they are the top organization and had no problems with the contract, like Fedor does. The UFC has the large majority of top 10 HWs at any given time (and every weight classe for that matter) if that's not real competition, I don't know what is...Oh Sylvia and Arlovski, yeh they're doing very well nowadays..

Well first of all Fedor is 30-1 and Lesnar is 4-1...so you have allready failed. You can't use records to predict how fighters would fare against each other. Fedor was 5-1 at one point and beat fighters with much more impressive records.

Fedor has a record of 30-0, and 23 of those matches were won bu tko, ko or submission, Lesnar has a 4-1 and he has even been submitted one by Mir who sucks bigtime and has a record of 12-4..Who is Carwin?
