My sister has a pit bull mix and she is so smart, loyal, cuddly, and expressive. Her sassy side eyes kill me. Vet student here. I agree with what you are saying, but I have a recommendation for you. Try feeding 3 times daily in smaller increments. Puppies do not have good control over their blood sugar until they are around 6 months old. So feeding only once a day causes them to have a blood sugar spike after eating, and then they crash. They will have more energy, grow better, and have stronger immune systems if you put them on a 3x per day meal plan 👍

Speaking from experience i feed my pups 2x each day atleast. Their bodies cant just handle eating a larger meal once a day until they get around 5-6 months. For pups under that age, a one meal a day diet can work but they tend to have more health problems when they get older. Which some breeders/trainers dont see because they would have sold the dogs already.

I used to feed mine two small meals one early morning when I would be getting ready for work and another when I was going to sit down and eat. These dogs will eat themsekves to DEATH if you allowed it. My all white rednose pit named Taz somehow got into the 5 gallon bucket I stored his food in and ate every piece of kibble until his neck wouldnt stretch any further, I walked in to like 5 huge piles of vomited food and that poor guy was feeling terrible but there was nothing I could do but lay with him and rub his belly for him. I felt soo bad for my guybut was thankful he got it up out of him cuz many dogs have tragically died this way.

I feed a mixed diet of raw and kibble. I research my kibble and the raw comes from my job. My husky also gets frozen whole fish for the oils his skin and fur needs.

I have a bullmastiff. I feed him twice a day. He has breakfast at 10am and dinner at 7pm. He still begs me for every meal that I eat around him. He never acts as if he's full. Everytime I eat he thinks he is suppose to eat.😂😂😂❤

Most veterinarians (including myself) recommend feeding adult dogs twice a day. Some people feed their dogs once a day, but dogs that are only fed once a day can get hungry and also sometimes can be prone to bilious vomiting (vomiting caused by an empty stomach). Puppies need to eat more frequently and should be fed four times per day at first, and can slowly be weaned down to twice daily feedings by about six months of age.

Bad practice. Humans are only supposed to eat once daily too. Our ancestors woke up, hunted, ate their catch/gathering in the late afternoon, then went to sleep early. Try that for a while and tell me how it feels. And before you say it's an animal, that's nature, Yada Yada, so are humans. Wild dogs will feed as often as possible. Feed animals twice if they're kept inside, 3x if they get enough exercise to warrant it.

Those babies are so dang cute! I only feed my pup once a day. Every time we go to the vet, they tell me they are glad to see he is not over fed. It must be a bigger issue than I thought in my area. My idea was just to give him his daily serving once, and if he wants it, he can eat it when he wants it.
