I recommend anyone who has not been to London, to go and sit by the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral and hum this tune to yourself. Walt was right, in the grand scheme of things, this is what life is all about. Charity, making those less fortunate feel wanted and just as cared about as the rest of us.

Since I was a child, I have loved this song. Your Father and Uncle were amazing songwriters, bar none. This song is probably the most loved. And Kristin, a fellow Oklahoman, does more than do it justice. Thank you!

Wow... this proves that yes, those words are simple but few. Even Kristin singing it, it is about charity. When I finally heard this song lastnight in the original film again, I bowled over overflowing with emotion. This song can hit you right in your heart, it's that sad but that beautiful. And Walt was right. That's what it's about.

Jeffrey, thank you for filming and posting this. I don't blame you one bit for forgetting about the camera when you proudly applaud the work of your father and uncle. I saw Mr. Banks on my birthday (and went back the next day to see it again), and was so moved by the interaction of your dad and uncle, I googled each of them, surprised to learn of the distance (as it goes in families, but also contributes to the collaborative genius), and then discovered "The Boys." I watched that tonight, and can't tell you how beautiful it was to watch. Quite touching that their two sons collaborated in the footsteps of their fathers. Wonderfully filmed and edited. Then I just had to hear Feed the Birds one more time, and this rendition by Ms Chenoweth opened the floodgate of tears. God bless you and your brother, your families, and of course your dad and your late uncle.

jeffrey, i was about seven when the movie hit the theaters, we kids in the family went and saw it. I was a bit of an odd bird then. I was impressed with everything in the movie, but it seemed a bit hollywood to me. Then they hit the scene at St. Pauls. im 64 now, and i still have a visual memory of the flower lady. whenever i hear that song. Back then, we didn't have video or dvd or mp3.that we could replay. My mind tucked that song, and those images away as a keepsake. i didn't know why my young self was mystified and drawn to that simple call for charity..I am grateful to your dad and Uncle for imagining something thatpure I will always conjure up that image in my head. It is more real than when I actually see it in the film. the song made me yearn for a kinder way of being back then, and it still does. Your family made a piece of art that is timeless . I always thought it something vaguely gypsy, and vaguely russian in the chord patterns even as a child. the rest of the film could be cartoons. that particular tune can describe things inside our souls that we didn't know we could see.

I really love this song. Thanks for filming this! I'm really sorry for your loss last year. I don't really like this cover as much since her timbre sounds more like a kids… Anyways, thanks for sharing this! I hope that both your dad and Walt Disney may love this song forever in Heaven. May they both RIP, even though it was almost 2 years ago.

Is Kristin Chenoweth crying or is she wearing glittery makeup? Either way, beautiful!
@icomeandgobybubble8710 жыл бұрын
Haa haa! Both. She had tons of glitter on (it's a Cheno thing) but she was totally crying by the end of it. She did a beautiful job with this song. Julie Andrews would be proud, somebody should show it to her.
@Shamsithaca6 жыл бұрын
yeah she was good, but her voice is quite thin, or maybe the recording is such. Julie's voice had a thicker core that was warm and velvet like as opposed to thin and shrill in this register.
@courtneyc36086 жыл бұрын
No one can ever possibly come close to having the same singing voice that Julie Andrews did. People talk about whitney this, christina and Jennifer that.... greatest voice of our time belongs to julie Andrews there's no debate there.
