Great to see you diversifying into all-round, roving tactics during another (match) lockdown, Jamie! Another quality video and a basic but enjoyable style of fishing I like doing myself when I’ve got limited time. It’s how so many of us started off and I remember doing the same sort of thing on the Rivelin, around Marshall’s or near Hillsborough, too. Loads of little brownies. Although the Don might not have been quite so clean during our childhoods! Goes to show it’s not all about bagging and loads of gear or bait as well - almost always just nice to get out and have an explore 👍 PS. Let’s hope the words ‘city’ and ‘bomb’ in the title don’t cause you any aggro with the KZbin algorithm 😂
@richardburns5925
@richardburns5925 Жыл бұрын
That stretch used to be a 4 foot deep stick float glide all the way from the Loxley entering the Don to the wier. The top of the wier is wood and was part washed away in the 2007 floods, that's why that stretch is only shallow now. Lost all it's depth, the flagstones are all damaged or overgrown now, not as good as it was.

Nice change of scenery Jamie and a beautiful fish. A lot of grayling in the Don but unfortunately access is terrible. I used to fish around meadowhall area and caught a lot of grayling plus dace, roach and chub but flood defences have made access even worse and impossible in places. Real shame.

Hi Jamie I said to the misses i bet he nails a grayling and so it was, a great video bud, i like a little bit of roving, its hard to beat at times of bordom, i do it on a tributary by me and it always surprise's me what it throws up, trout, roach, perch, pike, hybrid to fish of several pounds, its good fun for a couple of hours. Beautiful fish the grayling and nearly a guaranteed bit when its freezing cold, good job bud. Take care, Stay safe and keep it lit.👍 my friend.

Great vid mate, every town and city has little places that hardly get fished like the one you shown. Lovely Grayling worth getting out of bed for 👍🏻🎣. Quick question please i am gonna purchase the 4000 and 5000 Horizon reels soon and would like to know roughly how much backing the spools need before I can put braid on. Cheers and tight lines.
@CatchFishingChannel
@CatchFishingChannel 3 жыл бұрын
Your right and thanks for watching mate! Backing wise you'll need about 150m of 6lb line I think on those mate but you'll need quite a bit as your braid will only be 0.08 or 0.10 won't it mate?

@@CatchFishingChannel Thanks mate probably be 0.10 or 0.12. The reason I asked is because I am new to using braid I've watched countless KZbin videos on the subject. But nobody really covers the spooling up of it properly. Once again thanks 👍🏻🎣
