Yes, I did feed my animals Romaine Lettuce in this video. It is not the best salad choice by any means, it is however all I had in my house at the moment for the video which is why I mention other foods to feed your animals which is also what I typically do on the daily.

You also shouldn't feed spinach because it is high in oxalates which counter reacts calcium and so the bearded dragon can not absorb calcium or multivitamins right?

I realised when you fed your rainbow boa it was on the substrate, a great trick to prevent your snake from getting impaction issues is to flip their hide and feed them over it or in it.

Some advice: green tree pythons live in very moist, humid environments. Most snakes will do good with added moisture ( aka spraying as humidity and a fair sized water dish) it keeps their skin healthy and it helps them absorb some of that moisture naturally throughout their skin.

Also, heat pads CAN burn snakes. Snakes cannot tell if something is hot or cold, so that is why heat rocks are so dangerous. They will literally sit on it until their belly is raw.

So with the bearded dragon and the chameleon, feeding them is basically the equivalent of giving children brownies that have zucchini/other veggies in them But they don’t know. Except I’m this case it’s the stuff the like on top of the stuff they won’t eat alone. Superb trick.

Hiya, we were told not to feed our beardie spinach nor kale for the same reasons, and with ours I find another way to get his calcium into him is with the liquid drops, I add some to his water we feed him through a syringe or dropper, just because his eating habits are so random, but I can always get water into him

Adrianna Dragon My friend actually gave it to me, but I’ve seen it at select reptile stores. You can also get it online. I also hear that bee pollen works great and gets them to eat their greens as well. If all fails, I would suggest putting the repashy on top of his salad. He will end up eating it on accident if anything. 🤷🏼‍♀️💕

With the bearded dragon any type of lettuce isn't good for them it dosent have any good nutrients for them. The "chips" also arent good either. Loved the video tho!
@reptiliangarden
@reptiliangarden 6 жыл бұрын
Lexi Webb That is not true, actually! There are many lettuces that have a lot of nutritional value for them such as mustard greens, collard greens, Swiss chard and more! The chips were just an added bonus that entices him to eat his food because of the attractive color. I only used romaine because it’s all I had left in the house that day, it’s not what I normally feed by any means because that lettuce in particular doesn’t offer them nutrition. And thank you!!! 💕

I just want to make some suggestions. Your leopard gecko could really use a lot more enrichment. As others have mentioned you need MUCH more foliage and climbing branches for your geckos. I’m not trying to be mean but it made me really sad. Your chameleon looks incredibly healthy and beautiful and the way you feed your turtles is very smart to avoid how gross the water gets.
@reptiliangarden
@reptiliangarden 6 жыл бұрын
Lisa Mccullough Thank you! I redid my gecko enclosures entirely in a more recent video! I just moved and couldn’t do bioactive anymore, so they definitely needed some remodeling. What would you suggest for the leopard gecko enclosure for enrichment?
@annaherrera2889
@annaherrera2889 6 жыл бұрын
Your Leo enclosure looks fine! They don't require as much enrichment. They get enrichment from hiding. They aren't the type to run around, they like hiding and relaxing and you have all that there. Maybe just add another hide? I see you have a moist one, and I'm assuming you have the hot one. But maybe a relaxing cool hide? Maybe a hammock? Excavating clay is also really fun. Much more reasonable for the Leo than trees and branches to climb js

Cassandra Reels as it gets older I recommend a 20 gallon tank,crickets are good but just maybe 4 or 5,and try super worms or hornworms,make sure to make it humid and have. A humid hide along with a basking light and av light,and then with the heating pad they will live that,also I think you should put a digging box with eco dirt or paper towels and nice things that he/she can climb on

also i would recommend maybe drying off your mice before giving them to your snake because since its wet dirt can get stuck to it and your snake would eat the dirt. to help with this problem you can either dry off your mouse or put your snake in a different spot like a bin so the mouse doesn't have dirt on it

I don’t think they should have Romaine? (Also, Kale ((in moderate amounts)) is okay. If everything else in their enclosure is on point then you shouldn’t have to worry).
@sesshomari7236

Ally Burr yeah they should have romaine but right now they shouldn’t because romaine has been recalled for ecolai (i think thats how its spelled) and its still a bit dangerous for risk of infection.

romaine lettuce is the best option. it’s got a nice balance of vitamins and water compared to other types of lettuce.

no u it really isn’t nutritional at all for beardies but if it is all u have long as u add something else it should be okay in small amounts

The poisonous Ninja yeah. I just meant that it was the best type of lettuce, not the best type of vegetable. I give it to my guinea pigs as a treat every now and then.

Romaine is fine, iceberg is what shouldn't be fed.

LethalGas 9753 Thank you! And honestly it varies. I buy in bulk for things like the mice to make it cheaper. I also breed my own roaches and crickets to feed off every week.

Lizards/geckos don't usually get compacted with eco earth.

You dont need to worry about geckos getting impacted from Eco Earth... it is made of cocofiber so it will just pass right through

Do you feed your crested geckos insects and what sort of insects? And do you dust them in calcium for all the geckos? Or dust them in multi vitamin?
@reptiliangarden
@reptiliangarden 6 жыл бұрын
AppleRaple I feed them insects once a week. Primarily crickets that are gut loaded and dusted in calcium d3. I dust with multivitamin once a month

Reptilian Garden Thank you so so much! I’ve been trying find answers everywhere! What do you gut load them with? Can you also mix some calcium d3 into their Pangea?
@reptiliangarden
@reptiliangarden 6 жыл бұрын
AppleRaple You can, but I just dust the insects. You can guy load them with veggies and dark leafy greens 💕 always avoid avocado and beets though, they’re toxic to reptiles.
