To GG360035 No, think it was the crimped maize. Why they used the Bobcat not clear but maybe the bucket is the right measure for the maize? The Manitou was a lot bigger.

To rakerman Thanks Pat. Well, farming isn't all about fieldwork, as you know. A look behind the scenes, so to speak, is a privilage and highly interesting. ( for me). . . . . Alan

To uninvited89 Sorry, it was the "wut" - which made me work hard to reckon on what you were after. You are certainly correct that many farmers do run an inefficient operation, but I find it's kinder, more charitable, to assume he DOES know what he's doing. It also creates more goodwill - and the world could do with more of that, rather than assuming he's a clot. (which he isn't, I can assure you). Thanks for coming back to me. . . . Alan

To endamc79 Thanks Enda. Very true, they don't need a lot of space, do they? That's probably why they have both skidsteer and loader. . . . .Alan

@balmesh the "a think" put me off :/ i was just was just wondering what his reason was, and it doesnt really mean that because he has both he needs both. alot of farmers run an inefficient opperation, making costs they cant justify the only reason i can think off, would be the farm layout and confined spaces making the manitou unable to maneuver due to the lack of space you dont have to act so jumpy, it's a great video and it was just a question

To uninvited89 Does that mean you don't know what thinking is? I'll try and help - he has both, therefore he needs both. Obvious. Why - perhaps the smaller bucket on the skid is better for measuring the maize, but it can't lift high enough for filling the feeder? Just a guess. I always start from the basis that people usually have a reason for what they do. It's just trying to work out the reason from the information you have. . . . . Alan

be safe filming in that environment, don't want any silage bales falling on you or yourself being run over.

To lordnazgul100 Right. I tend to be careful because I don't want to be a nuisance and get in the way.
