More people need to know what you put into your farm. Hard work with many hours. Machine care, plowing, feeding, cleaning, etc. Non stop. I'm grateful for all you do. Thank you.

yes!! I live and have lived in Southern Ontario Canada all my life and now 83 . I have seen and been in all the snow and storm that you are showing. I lived in the country farm land back in the 1940's and 50's as a young lad, we got winters like you have shown in the video almost every winter with snow up to your ying Yang every winter so I know what you are going through on your farm. God Bless everyone and stay warm and safe.

Seems like you would have cheap loafing pens you could bed with stalks when the weather is terrible. That one bunch was sure dirty. I just like it when they can get out of terrible weather. My first job we baled 10,000 plus bales of straw. Different areas do it different.

Watching this on the 20th - the day after you published. Here in Eastern Kansas, we still have lots of snow on the groudn with an air temp of 4 (was -7 when I got up). But the good news is that we're supposed to be in the 40's all week. Yay! Hope it melts your snow as well as ours. (I hate winter). When I lived in Hays, I'd get 3 foot drifts from 3 inches of snow. Lack of windbreaks really helps create those "wonderful" drifts. Enjoyed the video.

Do any farmers put up wind breaks and or bedding for the cattle when it's that cold out?

Mud is never fun under the snow when trying to clean up. Wish we had your temps. Weather man just said we are supposed to have windchills in -30’s tonight in South Dakota. Anything above 0 will feel like a heatwave.

We are having our share of problems taking care of the cattle and keeping ice thawed out and our rotomixs going. No snow just super cold for the new little peewees that are fresh in from south Florida. L. T.

At 6:50 , There is a municipal city water fire hydrant out in the middle of nowhere, or are you really that close to town with farm and pasturing...?
@PetersonFarmBros11 ай бұрын
In Central KS we have rural water districts that provide water to all the residences out in the country. That fire hydrant is just part of the water tower infrastructure that supplies the water I believe.

It's not a polar vortex, it's called winter and it happens every year just like summer, fall, and spring. It's never the same that you can count on. You can count on the weather being different every year.

I’m very glad I didn’t have livestock anymore. Yes I do miss them but in this weather I don’t miss frozen waters or being stuck trying to feed.
