Prevent spills if you line the bucket with a large plastic bag and mix the milk inside the bag, you can twist tie the bag shut for transport to the babies. The open the bags when you fill the dishes.

I had a foal that lost its mother when it was old enough to start eating hard feed but i use to mix the milk replacement with their hard feed then put some water in the feed so the feed would soften the food for the foals and they still got their milk to and i even did it for my older horses to as they got their vitmen that is in the milk

Zafara tried so hard to comply, it simply was not possible. Poor thing.

I wonder why the kittens can't be housed together, it'll sure give them some comfort and would keep them occupied. They're looking desperate for some company.
@Taneehl8 сағат бұрын
Indeed… more roomy accommodation is needed for the cats; those tiny cages are good only for vet visits/ recovery… not housing. Hopefully that’s something that’s being planned for when able.

The cats need more space altogether, currently bordering on unintentional cruelty. Hopefully there are plans afoot to improve their temporary homes instead of keeping them in tiny jail-like cells…

That says a l I t about Horse Plus if she came from Oregon
I'm shocked that Horse Plus doesn't have any heaters of any kind to not only unthaw water (or keep it from freezing), but to also heat up the milk for the babies to keep it at body temperature. Warm water isn't going to do it! It isn't going to keep the milk warm for any period of time.
@PatriciaStephens-ou9hf21 минут бұрын
Hey have y'all used Kachina (as in doll) as a name? Maybe in honor of the Navajo gentlers. If they think it's appropriate. Why not just mix the milk replacer with the softened food?
@blippityblop276713 сағат бұрын
I watch an episode of Bondi Vet that had a donkey with a more prominent version of this and it was caused by a certain plant that grew in the field where the donkey was staying. Hopefully they will be able to find something to help in this case.

Those three baby babies, should not someone be showing them where and what their feed is? It seems pointless giving them special formula if they don't know how to drink from the bowls. I just don't get it. Yes I know there are more horses to feed etc., however if the three baby babies are to thrive, shouldn't they have more help learning how and where to get their special feed? At least for the first little while, until they are confident enough to find and feed from the bowls themselves?
