seems an expensive way to feed cattle the way beef prices are? (well here in Ireland anyway). Hard to justify a diet feeder just to feed silage?

We are feeding wheat straw, crop silage, grass silage, barley, maize meal, distillers grains, draff, pot ale syrup and minerals. The minerals are throughout the whole mix meaning all animals get the neccesary intake every day. The straw is readily available and the barley is also due to the arable side of the farm, while most of the other products come from distilleries and brewaries around Scotland so its a little bit cheaper to haul.

JCB stopped production of the 520-50 and didn't have another machine that took our liking so we had no option but to go elsewhere

We are trading in our newest 520-50 early part of Jan 2015 for a JCB TM220, pivot steer seems to be the way forward in my eyes :P

When u have so much cattle it saves you so much time if you have 600 bales imagine if u have to go out and cut the plastic off get back into the tractor move to bale and the take off the net or u could just get one of them

James King lol i had to fed 4000 sheep and we removed all plastic and net by hand and in one go. used manitou mlt 735-lsu120 to mowe them :D

James King It saves an awful lot of time and the grab can also be used for loading the straw into the wagon and setting bales into the bedder
