I can't find the right words to express what this song makes me feel. It is not sadness or happiness. It is not disappointment or hope. The voice, the instruments, the lyrics... Melancholy, perhaps? Ever since I heard it on the Demo, "Feel" has found a way to stay in my head. It's as if the song wanted to stay inside of me. Outside of the game, I can say that "Feel" is a beautiful song. Just beat this with the true ending the other day, and I'm not afraid to say I misted up more than once. Which is very rare for me and soulsike games. Spoilers ahead after the jump. I was originally indignant that, to get the true ending, I would have to lie at every opportunity. I wanted to roleplay a good person, I suppose, and for every lie I told to protect somebody (telling Julian his puppet wife had said she loved him), I felt like there were two lies I told simply out of meanness (telling Polendina that puppets can't love humans springs to mind, and not informing Eugenie that her brother was watching over her until his death). By the end of the game, I'd come to realize that...even if it could be argued that those 'mean' lies were told from a well-intentioned place...it's all a part of being human. Some humans WILL lie to protect others, and those same humans might lie just to be cruel, to hurt people close to them. And having learned about a human's capacity for cruelty and kindness, Pinocchio chose the path of self-sacrifice to bring Sophia back. It was incredibly moving. I then went to youtube to watch the other two endings. And seeing Geppetto casually toss Pinocchio aside like a tool, not even catching him as he falls, or even sparing him another look back was heartwrenching. I guess this post got a little rambly, and my feelings on the game are kinda complex. But I loved this game. And this song is definitely my favorite from the OST.

Oh yeah and tbh I got the good ending by accident, you don't even have to lie at every opportunity, you just need to acquire enough humanity, so I just answered how I normally would. Tbh tho I have one thing that I'd like to have seen, during the final, final battle, if you have the humanity to get the true end, I think every time a quote from another character plays, it should be accompanied by a modified "Your heart is pounding", graphic yk
