Just purchased a Feelfree Lure 11.5 secondhand in Australia. Coastal area to the sea and I know my gravity seat needs a little care and maintenance Great help.

Thanks for the great tips! I've been wrestling with my seat ever since I bought it years ago. This helps immensely!

Thanks for these useful tips. I just unwrapped a new Lure 11.5 today and had to really wrestle with the seat to make it go down. I think this might do the trick! Can’t wait to try it.

I check my rudder pin screw every time before i go out because i lost the pin once and almost had the whole assembly come apart on the water
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
Two things will fix that. I blue loctite the screw on all of the rudders I install. Also, if you can install it so one of the R pins is inside the frame of the rudder itself, the pin won't fall out if it does come loose. It will just go until the clip hits the rudder frame and stay there. I've had my beavertail on my Moken since they first came out and have never had to touch it.

Just bought a used Lure10 with gravity seat. Watched this video and understood what happened. The bolt and black plastic piece are missing and the spring has a sharp bend. How do I get new pieces? The right side was OK, the left side is missing.

Thanks. How do you recommend protecting the gravity seat from the sun.
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
I don't worry about it. Maybe spray a bit of 303 on it or take the seat out and store inside.

Could I put one of this gravity seats in my Native 14.5 kayak. I have a bad back too. It looks really comfortable.
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
Honestly not sure if it would fit. It is custom made for the Lure so I doubt it. Best bet would be to find a dealer or friend nearby that can try it out for you.

What will straighen the frame up, mine is crooked from the factory, almost cut my finger off try to lower it and it fell as i sat down

Starting to regret buying the damn thing...
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. You could put pressure on it..... But I would just contact your dealer or Feelfree customer service to see what your options are for replacing the frame/seat. I had one bent one and getting it back true and square is near impossible..... And it weakens the frame if you keep bending it.

Where can I buy replacement springs, as I bought my feel free 11.5 v1 used and was missing a couple bolts and seat rod which I just bought but cant find the springs anywhere Thanks

How do you attach the straps in the front under the seat. Do they attach along the side wall or do they cross. Please advise. Thanks

Maybe you can provide some ideas for me. I have a lure 2 and my rear seat has play when I am pedaling. The securement straps are as tight as I can get them but I still have play. When I pedal, the seat will rock back off the deck of the boat approximately an inch and a half. I thought about placing small wooden wedges between the frame and the deck under the straps to minimize the issue but I don't think that is a permanent solution. Any ideas on how I can get the straps any tighter?
@SmallCraftFisherman2 жыл бұрын
Try cris crossing the straps. That seems to help keep the seat planted for me.
@chexlemeneux49072 жыл бұрын
@@SmallCraftFisherman Didn't think of that. Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
@chexlemeneux49072 жыл бұрын
I tried it but the straps aren't long enough.
@SmallCraftFisherman2 жыл бұрын
Do you have the straps with the single release button on top or the side clip release buttons?
@chexlemeneux49072 жыл бұрын
@@SmallCraftFisherman they are just regular straps with an adjustment buckle at one end that bolt to the deck on each end. I loosend the straps as far as they would go but no luck.

Tyler, in your maintenance video, you mentioned the pedal axle has issues at times. Can you tell me what the axle size is. I'm trying to install new pedals, but the ones I bought the 25Nine Bushido BMX Pedals do not fit. I thought they were Universal. If you can tell me I will buy better replacement Pedals. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
I can't recall what size it is but there are only two pedal sizes typically. 9/16 or 1/2. So whichever size your Bushidos are it should be the other size.
@martinlarkin96243 жыл бұрын
@@SmallCraftFisherman Thanks Tyler. The Bushidos I have are 9/16, so I will check to see if a 1/2" is available for purchase and try them. Much appreciated.
@martinlarkin96243 жыл бұрын
Hi Tyler, thanks for your insight. I reached out to Feel Free and like other items on the kayak, the pedal axes are custom, so I think the 9/16" or 1/2" will not work, so I guess I have to order new Pedals from Feel Free if they are ever damaged. Thanks again for your insight.

Tyler, I was watching your pedal drive maintenance video and you mention White lithium grease. Can you also tell me if just lithium grease is fine and what tip are you using on the grease gun. Your insight is greatly appreciated.
@SmallCraftFisherman3 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with any lithium other than white. Main thing is that it is a low-heat lubricant I think..... as for the grease gun you can get the greaserts that thread right into the holes. Can't recall the thread size, but then you have to put them in/out, etc. A needle tip for the grease gun works well though. Something like this www.amazon.com/LockNLube-Narrow-Needle-Dispenser/dp/B0779FK9CZ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=grease+gun+needle+tip&qid=1623073518&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFMMTk1Wk9CRjgxQzcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwMjM3NjcxMVVLVlhWTlQ2SUkzJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwMjI3NjUzOTc0MlBXQVo2QUkwJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
