Hey man, just from one content creator to another, we all seem to get shoehorned into one type of content or another. For some it's long-form, for others it's short-form. It can be hard to break the mold sometimes, but regardless, I hope you keep trying because you've clearly got the talent to attract an audience. Sometimes learning a new form of content isn't automatic and it takes time to develop the right formula. Idk if any of this helps but I hope you aren't discouraged from long-form stuff. Like, I have been discouraged from short-form cuz I can't seem to break into that, you know? There is always the potential of doing a separate channel but you gotta make that call. You can always hit me up for any input and whatnot. Wish you all the best, man!

I know Shorts are doing well and I’m grateful for that too, but Shorts aren’t even a tenth of the income that standard uploads provide and that’s really what I’m needing at this time. Also, please don’t feel guilty! That is not the purpose of this video. Thank you again for all who have been supportive and encouraging. YT is super weird and unpredictable. I’m a really small channel comparatively and sometimes I get a video with 44k views and then my next video gets like 50. Not fifty thousand, I mean literally 50. It has nothing to do with video quality but more of whether KZbin decides to promote the content. Pretty frustrating at times and I completely understand what you mean in this video.

Just checked out your channel, and considering how you only started 3 months ago you seem to be doing alright, but yeah some your videos do seem to be getting an unfair lack of exposure. Maybe try and find details on your most popular vid so as to replicate it’s success ? Idk, at the end of the day if you really want to succeed you have to keep trying and experimenting, not by throwing stuff at the wall hoping it will stick but through a learning process. It may seem like KZbin is a complete gamble at first, but most people at the top agree that it’s mostly a skill you develop overtime with a little luck involved. I’ve looked at your stuff and it’s quality content for sure, so I really hope your channel will grow in the future. Have a good one.

Welcome to the club Karl. My latest one was supposed to be the crown jewel of what my audience "wants to see". Low and behold, it has been sat at 10k after 2 weeks. This has happened before. it never makes sense. It is incredibly discouraging and, in a way, fascinating to observe the change of audience. Last time this happened, I changed niche and rebranded the channel. Not too far from what it initially was, but far enought to catch into an uncharted area of media with a new audience. Experiment. Find new niches to be passionate about. Find cool shit to enjoy and show it to the people. I think it s time for a change once again. We gon make it (i hope)

@@KommanderKarl easy bro, chose this comment to try to reach out to you and ill explain why, its because I struggled to find many other comments that your replying to, lol. I'm not a KZbinr, I don't create any sort of content, this is my only ever KZbin account and honestly I don't even watch too many videos or spend that much time here compared to average users, I don't often like or subscribe or anything what most users do, I don't even usually comment on anything and if I do I usually end up deleting it because of your standard trolls I don't have any time for. However I just came across your channel somehow and enjoyed a few videos, decided to look a little further into your channel and straight away my mood changed after finding and watching this entire video, probably much longer than the videos which brought me here and what gained you a following to begin with. Then I decided to flick through various random videos on your channel after hearing you mentioning your following vs views/engagement data and I basically saw exactly what I thought id see, you know yourself you make some half decent content here and there which is what has built your following and analytics in the first place, the reason why I'm commenting and I hope this will open your eyes or even reach you before ive had the chance to remove this I believe comes down to one huge factor... YOUR NOT ACTUALLY ENGAGING OR COMMUNICATING WITH THE SMALL PORTION OF VIEWERS WHO DO CONTINUE TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT EVEN ON THE VIDEO YOU HAD THE AUDACITY TO UPLOAD ASKING YOUR FOLLOWERS WHERE THEY ARE AT WHEN YOU DONT TAKE OUT A FEW MEASLY MINUTES OF YOUR KZbinR LIFESTYLE TO ENGAGE OR COMMUNICATE. Ok enough caps for today, seriously bro you think you can just make a few videos what manage to go viral, people subscribe and then religiously monitor and watch your channel day in day out, when you pretty much don't do any follow up to ensure that your subscribers actually feel they exist which doesn't mean throwing in a 5 second bit saying thank you even if you did that on every video, pull your finger and head out of your ass and realise you have been lucky enough to build up a following but you blindly and ignorantly ignore probably 99.9999% of them and just expect they will in turn come back and view every piece of content you upload? wake up bro stop being so lazy or you probably will end up quitting, as a reminder to you, I often delete my comments so I hope this reaches you in time and that you read it and understand the message, peace

Dude I can totally relate, I am a much smaller channel with 1.2k subscribers, and have over 350 videos but been doing KZbin for 9 years if I include my old channel. So I too came back much later. But I have the same exact mindset as you of not given up no matter how you feel. That's an excellent way of going about it, we all fail at our careers, our hobbies and our dreams. I sometimes will get videos with less than a 100 views even if I spend all day editing all the time for it to end up being 10 of 10 recent videos, but a winner is made when you keep failing but you keep getting back up like you. This I feel is why I can see you being a channel with over 10 million subscribers someday. I think despite what a lot of people say, their are many channels that have taught me a lot about KZbin data and analytics and what makes a video work, I use to make shorts as well, but the problem was for me was that I ended up having a split audience so everyone watched my shorts didn't watch my long form. Just from my observation of your channel, I see the same happening with your channel, I could be wrong but it looks like most of your views have come from your shorts. The good thing about long form however, is while it doesn't get views quickly like short form (most of the time). Overtime the consistency of content will slowly average out the views higher overtime. So much can happen and change in like 1 year of being consistent believe me, looking very closely at my analytics I use to average about 40 views a day when I didn't upload and now I average about 120 views per day, it may not seem like much of a change but overtime it makes a huge difference. If you look at your data, while you might not be getting huge amounts of views lately, but if you look at your early average of views a while ago in a month not posting vs now, I guarantee your average view count is much higher, your work is still paying off even if it feels like an eternity and one step at a time, believe me. I know it can feel so discouraging sometimes when we want those big numbers and we aren't getting them, but be patient, keep going and I 100% guarantee will be huge. From a channel that is much smaller, 800k is very impressive and you've made it a long ways. I know this was a lot information but to Kommander Karl or anyone reading this, I hope my observations of KZbin will help motivate you and other youtubers to keep perusing your dreams.

The whole YT algorithm thing is quite fecked up, the platform is always pushing for more and bigger and it can be very punishing at times. I'm personally miffed with the fact that YT also pushes creators hard to make shorts, but the revenue they get from them is minimal. I get that their logic is that shorts are a medium to attract people to the main content, but it doesn't really work like that. I hope things get brighter here, you deserve that and much more.

Your sense of humor is legendary, Commander. Thanks for sharing it and I hope your metrics get better. I can't understand why no one watched that fast horse video I cried from laughter..... Reminded me of Midas Magic from Oblivion back in the day haha. The original FUS RO DAH! 😋

I feel sorry for you. I like your videos. I hope you get through this.

Just wanted to say, I deeply appreciate it when a creator like yourself keeps experimenting and pushes the boundaries, even when you know probably only 5-10% of them are going to be long-term viable. I know it annoys some users, but f 'em. I think it would be incredibly boring to rely on the same formula forever only because it pays best.

I hear you! I completely agree. It's a grind. I think KZbin is a side hustle that you cannot really rely on it. That's why I do Airbnb hosting and make courses on Udemy and have a full time teaching Job.

The reason why the reload and NPC/game tropes series are so successful is that they're so accurate and easy to understand. From my understanding you have a background in firearms, you're a passionate gamer, and that comes together in videos that are high quality and much loved. Everyone experiences the same NPCs, and reloading an item is an intuitive process. To the point where a lot of people are subscribed because they appreciated that content, even if they aren't very interested in most of your content. I understand those kinds of skits take a lot of time and effort, perhaps you could find another video topic that let's you flex your editing and directing skills. Getting recognized by DasBoSchitt is an achievement. You have great acting and storytelling skills, perhaps you could branch into more live action skits that randomly feature "gamer" moments like someone getting so upset they glitch through the floor, or the tactical loading of an office briefcase because the lawyer has an important trial.

Man you are speedrunning the yt experience. blowing up quickly. then hitting the algorythm/engagement quickly. lets hope that the rest of the usual development are a bit further down the line.

It’s okay. This frustration happens to anyone who is doing it for result instead of loving it.

Hello Kommander! I think you last video missed the topic of what fascinated me about your channel. Im a person who is generally interrested in videogames, watches gameplay as also in depth videos about programing and game design. Your ragdoll- and reload videos were like memes for me in that kontext and i realy like them. These videos were fun and original, but also gave insight in the creative process of creating these videogame "components". I also realy enjoyed your videos about Running With Scissors, beause it gave good insight about how and why the videogame indrustrie, and in your case, smaller developpers work and operate. For me, this conntent makes your channel unique, but your videos like the last one, didnt appeal to me in that sense. I truly hope you keep up your channel!!! kudos from germany

Danke schon! You are not the first to say this so I will probably not do anything like the last video anymore and focus solely on skits/postal stuff/technical breakdowns

Tbh, i didn't get any of your videos recommended to me until the last RDR2 one. Until then, i was just seeing a lot of your shorts on instagram. The last video made me subscribe, thought it was hilarious, and your shorts and other things are amazing too 🔥🔥🔥

KZbin is rough and unpredictable. Algorithm is weird to work with and keeping viewers shorter attention spans these days / going with what’s trendy can be difficult to figure out. I always had dreamed of becoming a content creator so I can get access to videogames early but man, it’s not as easy as it looks. You don’t just make whatever video you want and watch the $$$ pile in, a lot really goes into it. Sometimes you have to be fake, make videos you don’t want to make. There’s also tricky things you need to do with video settings before you upload sometimes. I see a few comments here about the bell not going off, but at the same time I saw a video somewhere about possibly losing subs if you bug your subscribers by turning notifications on. So anyways I have respect for what you do, keep doing what you love, don’t give up.

I think your reload shorts, and other animated shorts have been a lot of your funniest content. My personal favorite is the Skyrim representations in real life though. All instant classics for me. Now I know I'm just one person, but if you were able to make a video series about what life would be like to actually live like that, and make them the length of a normal KZbin video I would be all over that.

ngl i got really hooked by the game animation and npcs videos, like the different animation styles and when it bugs + reloading whatever crap you felt like in a brutal way another thing being you rarely actively think about what the algorithm shows, so i just forgot about this channel until now
