Title song from "FEELING ELECTRIC" a new musical [now titled "NEXT TO NORMAL" OPENING ON BROADWAY 2009 - this is a cut song] written by Tom Kitt (High Fidelity, Bring It On) & Brian Yorkey, performed by Anthony Rapp (Rent) as the Doctor, with Benjamin Schraeder (The Book Of Mormon, Big River tour) as Gabe/Tweak, Joe Cassidy (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can) as Dan, Amy Spanger (Wedding Singer) as Diana, Annaleigh Ashford (Legally Blonde, Wicked) as Natalie. Accompanied by [now Tony Award winner] Alex Lacamoire. New York Musical Theatre Festival 2005 promotional appearance at Virgin Megastore, Union Square NYC.

This song was cut because the director who took helm of the project and steered it to perfection suggested that Brian and Tom rewrite the show with a stronger focus on the family as opposed to the medicine. Originally the show was a critique of the mental health industry. Some of those strands still remain. Feeling Electric was kept right up until the off-Broadway run, when it was cut (along with Costco and a few other songs) because they were just glitzy numbers with little emotional impact, w

Obviously he didn't play the role on Broadway. If he did, the theatre would eventually get ruined because the seats would get really wet after each of his songs and it would do serious damage

This is kind of bittersweet, but this is transferring to Broadway this month. Unfortunately this number (which stayed with it even after Anthony left the project) was cut a while back. Odd considering it was the original title of the entire musical. But it stars Alice Ripley and looks fantastic.
