The squirrels are attracted to the growing bulb of the plant. In the growing stage when the roots are soft and juicy, cover it with a net till the plant grows fully, confine access to squirrels through a net barricade of sorts. Once they have grown a little, and ready to fruit, squirrels won't attack those anymore 11:22

You had gone to Brampton. You get grinded neem dry leaf powder. Get that next time. Mix it with water and get a hand pump sprayer from Home Depot. If you spray neem powder on your plants then no insects or gillaehari will come or destroy you vegetables garden. It is the best organic insecticide spray and medication for your plants.

You can store dry mint leaves in the freezer (in small ziploc bags)for winters...Broad leaf mint is not as potent as small leaf Indian mint!

Hi Cherry... I am Summy from Bangalore. We watch your videos regularly. Saw your newly planted plants eaten by squirrels. I have a solution.. If you have old cds ,you can hang them ( about 4_5) on your grill . The reflection of cds should scare the squirrels away. This works well in India for pigeons and squirrels. Hope it does for you too. But do try and I will see the result through your video 😊😊.

Another way to keep animals away from your plants. Everyone does not like it but in Hindi we call it ‘Laxhman Rekha’. It sounds spooky but it works. Around your plants or as we have carrie in India. Dig 2 inches naali and put human hair all around. You can get them from any barber shop. Then cover it with dirt or potting soil. No animal will ever cross that ‘Laxhman Rekha’. I had a problem with Ground Hogs and Deers. I dug 2 inches naali all around the fencing of my house. I went to the local Hair Cuttery and filled four trash bags of human hair. I placed it all around my house and then covered the nalli with dirt. The problem was solved, but there was a problem in my house. I wife found human hair planted all around the house very spooky. She said she does not like that. I had that for one year but my wife kept on bothering me. Finally next year I had to dig and take out all that human hair. Yea the human hair stopped all animal but not the birds. But that one year my wife made my like hell for having human hair around the house.
