Even though this dude knows his way around his instrument of choice, this considerable blast of a tune is largely a transfer of the Jimi genius of Voodoo Chile, right down to those smokey Hammond organ stabs by Stevie Winwood & about the 6:40 mark, hints of Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers at Fillmore East. But heck, we all know about the hybrid snatches and loans in music from way back, borrowing from every genre to recreate or create newer tunes or camouflage older ones as new, for everything borrows from elsewhere much like the DNA which produced us, 'ey ! Some improved, some improvised & others, 'slide byes'. 😎✨💥☃️😜🎸

the great thing about Philip and Joe Bonamassa is that they were influenced and learned from all the great players from the 60s but were able to take the best bits and make it their own. who cares If this is similar to Vodoo Chile? I'd sooner listen to this than a tired old rendition by Clapton and Winwood. Jimi's been gone a long time. Let Philip keep his sound alive and enjoy it for what it is..BRILLIANT MUSIC.

+Tim Ballard Yeah, people feel the need to always compare musicians. "Shut the fuck up dumb people and listen to the music for fuck's sake" LOL

Well said brother. Philip has that classic vibe down for sure but he is so much more and his style stands on its own imo. You go see him live now he's evolved so much since this album. Nobody can touch Philip his intensity goes unmatched in my humble opinion.

The songs starts great imho, but at some point the drums take too much the overhand and it becomes very messy, which makes me skip the track, cause it makes me restless. Around the 6:30 time mark.
