Great explanation on intelligent usage of ball machine. I've been using one regularly for a year and it has improved my skill from 3.5 to 4.5. Tomas is such an intelligent coach and has practical training modules.

I love your focus on the non-dominant arm. I took a few lessons from Vic Braden and he was always big on the kinetic chain, and how to stop it to transfer power to the racket. I'm about to try to return to tennis with my 32 year old trusty tennis tutor machine. Hopefully I've forgotten all my bad habits....:) Your ball machine drills are GREAT! THANK YOU!!!!

Great job on the review Coach, the only thing I don’t like about this machine is that it takes like 24 seconds for the balls to start to coming out of the machine. It also only has a topspin ball and no slices. Other than the things I mentioned I love this machine. Thank you Coach!

@Feel Tennis Instruction Do you feel as if pressureless tennis balls needed in such a machine are bad for your game? Injury wise or building bad habbits from the different feel of the ball? I got the Slinger today and enjoying it but have never hit with a pressureless ball and still getting used to it. Thanks again!

Thank you for this video! I recently got a slingerbag and am working on my one-handed backhands. Why is it a bad thing to over-rotate?
@johntesoriero33823 жыл бұрын
How do you like the Slinger so far?
@feeltennis3 жыл бұрын
You cannot hit accurately if you over-rotate. It's hard to control direction if you're turning around.
@feeltennis3 жыл бұрын
I like it. It's looks cool, it's smartly designed, it's quiet and it shoots out balls consistently. ;) The only main con I see is that the ball always has quite a lot of topspin which may be too tough to handle for lower level players.
@YehShano11 ай бұрын
Over rotating is bad if you rotate too early, power generated will be lost and control as well….many players these days (Wawrinka comes to mind) rotate heaps and you might think they’re over rotating but it’s all in sequence and a natural rotation caused by how hard they’re swinging

Hello, do you still use your Slinger ball machine ?
@LiamApilado3 жыл бұрын
Do you think the slinger is worth the investment over "better" machines like the lobster for a intermediate-advanced player? I'm debating to get this and some tennis gear such as shoes/rackets than the more expensive machine. Thanks if you reply :)

Hi Liam, I think Slinger is a very good value for money. Other "better" machines are all more expensive.

Thanks! I still use the original Slinger training balls which are harder than the normal tennis balls. I would assume the usual balls would deteriorate faster... (but they are easier on the arm)

What skill levels can benefit from the Slingerbag?
@feeltennis3 жыл бұрын
All skill levels. Just for beginners might be tricky because of topspin as it's always there. You just need to set low speed of the ball and place the Slinger Bag closer and then the spin effect will be low.
@leviticusspeaks77323 жыл бұрын
@@feeltennis Thomas come on now. I just left the court from hitting with this machine. Entirely to much HEAVY Topspin from this machine. Balls jump off of the court at twice the speed of before the bounce. 😂 Difficult for beginners or intermediate to receive a nice ball to work on technique. Too powerful of a delivery. 🤦😆
@vjb28133 жыл бұрын
@@leviticusspeaks7732 I have a ball machine but not the slinger. It seems to me you need to balance the speed (yellow area?), loft and then move the machine closer to receive the desired ball. Once you manipulate the variables, you will learn the set ups to work on your desired ball. This includes setting the ball machine on the same side of the net you stand on. It is not a $4,000 playmate machine but with some thought you can get it to work well for beginners. There are more videos that show this on KZbin.
@nijiak3 жыл бұрын
caveat for people who want to buy, it's not worth the price it is at this time, way too expensive. the only thing this slingerbag has got going for it is that it's still the most mobile tennis machine you can get at this point in time, but the speed of the ball leaves much to be desired if you are an advanced player (the topspin is perfectly fine as you can tell from the video, it kicks a lot faster than one would expect for a ball of that speed when hit by real players).

@@feeltennis No like time the ball to the chest high level and hitting the ball down when it’s high enough to take time away. The one you showed was hitting it right off the bounce.

@@haojunlong9594 the ball gains speed ridiculously quickly on the bounce especially on the higher settings, so you're better off trying to hit on the rise than to time the ball to chest level

How to you practice the split-step with a ball machine? Do you just not do it at all and move according to the speed of the ball?
@feeltennis3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's very tricky, you won't really do much on the split step with the ball machine because you have no visual cue before the ball is shot out. I don't recommend you spend time working on split step with a ball machine, focus on technique or consistency / accuracy.

Impossible to progress as nicely and quickly as you'd like if you only pay matches. I'm a 5.0 and it's almost impossible to find players of a similar level who can give me a consistent ball. It's a pain rallying with people who can't put in three nice balls in a row.
